agreed tsukihime was a bit basic but the storyline made up for that, and the multiple bad ending also made it challenging unlike most of the novels where its dead straight forward, you got 3 choices 1 for each girl (kira kira). and clannad should be top by a mile, never laughed or cried more then when playing that game. fate is only good for ero scenesdude that comment is unforgivable i mean the h scenes of fate are at best average if the ranking were of the quality of the h scenes fate woulnt even make it to the top 20. the whole epicness of fate is the story, the music and the differents types of characters.

yeah,started reading this week and cannot stop reading at least 8 hours for day of this awesomeness,if anything i think the ero is more like a bonus to the game,since it would be already wonderfull even w/out the ERO.

It saves me time to do something else, like trying to get better at Osu or pick up another VN. So don't feel like your a hypocrite, VN story lines are good and shouldn't be discounted for.

I don't want to make anyone angry but imho Sengoku Rance deserves a place in the Top10.
I've played most of the games in the top 10 (including the top5 ones) and I understand that deciding the 1st place is quite hard, since there are very good games there and we're talking about their characters, their story, the plot, not about their H content. So deciding the place a game should have kinda depends on the personal opinion of people.
Now why I think Sengoku Rance deserves at least a place in the top5:
1- It doesn't have 1, but 5 plot stories. 1 being the most basic "main" route, 3 other routes greatly different front the main one and between them, and a alternate route (kill the monkey) which is kinda a more free to play route.
Each route can take several hours to complete (ofc if u actualy read the text ¬¬), can be completed in diferent ways, and overall are quite interesting.
2- It's not your typical "choose your answer" VN to branch to one route to another, where you usualy end up skipping text until the branch point, or loading a savefile and then continue from there. Each time you play you can choose between diferent troops, bonus, territory to invade, etc.
3- GAMEPLAY: if you like "tactical" gameplay this is a realy good game to choose. You can skip the hentai stuff and just play it like any non-hentai game and have a really good time using diferent characters, strategies, troops, skills, dungeons... for people who may find the game easy once you get some start bonuses I'd dare them to try the hardest dificulty of the game and see if it isn't challenging. The gameplay by itself can fill quite a lot of hours of play and they even offer u a "free mode" play, where u can enjoy it w/o bothering with story.
4- Overall the game is FUN. The characters have each one their own background, personality, and a "clear" route to archieve their trust status. There are tons of diferent ways to archieve the "clear" with each character. If we take into account that there are 63 characters than CAN be "cleared" this gives more content and gameplay to the game (in most cases the clear status unlocks a h-scene).
Another thing that makes the game fun it's... the main character: he's a total pervert and during the story does some... incredible stuff that at least I found very fun and entertaining.
Well that's it, sorry about the long post but even if I don't get to see the game in the top10 I'll be happy if at least one person who reads this post decides to play the game~

well the game is mentioned in the recommend section so dont know what else can be done and i feel the same way this is a must play game very hilarious.

The top 10 is kind of out dated IMO, since it was made before from votings when Rance wasn't translated yet (if I recall correctly). It was made when "Wanko to Kurasou" was the latest translated game released
