I am gonna pick up a second copy of the game just because of this. Seriously though, this in no way has deterred me from purchasing my copy of FF13 at a midnight release. I am gonna enjoy this game no matter what. And to be honest this is a little more lame than I was expecting it to be, but it's still FF in glorious HD and I get to play it for hours on end. I take enjoyment from just that so mission accomplished for me.
Bro, how shallow are you? You will buy the game just because of the visuals and the name?

FF13 Versus will be the better of the two and that's not just because I am hoping for it. The team behind Versus also did Kingdom Hearts so I have confidence in them.
I wouldn't keep my hopes too high if I were you. Don't get me wrong, I love Kingdom Hearts to death and I would love to have a similar type Final Fantasy game. But the way Square has been treating their games for the last few years is just insulting.

edit: X-2 was seriously better than X because it didn't take all the stupid bullshit seriously
What part of X-2 made it better than X? It felt like a punch in the face to me. :\
From the characters, to the non-linearity, to the story and the gameplay.

and only became boring if you were playing the game through a second or third time
Thus reducing greatly replay value. Sitting through the same cutscene again is annoying. People want to play, but the game won't let you until it's all said and done.
Greatly reducing replay value? Dude, X has tons of sidequests. You'll have so much to keep busy with you probably won't finish them all. The only reason you would replay the game would be for maybe some nostalgia times, or to get the stats and items right for the ultimate weapons and bosses.
