Eh...The story is moderately good at best, nothing new, but it wasn't minddestroyingly bad. You play this game for the variety of Hscenes with all sorts of types, not the story.
Well I think the combat system also has it's allure. True the battles aren't outrageously difficult or anything, but it's a nice change of pace in my opinion.
I can't entirely deny the part about the h-scenes; but I do think the various side-stories contained their own appeal. At the very least one cannot deny the deliciously large dose of Comedy. Especially during what I've come to call "Enshou's Misadventures."
Enshou was fairly amusing, but I felt the combat was tedious. I appreciate the attempts to keep players (readers?) engaged by offering a slice of something different but still, Some Commander+Shuri=insta win.
The side stories had their appeal, but the story was nothing great, thats all.
I will never stop smiling every time I remember Enshou's laugh. Anyway, I'll again admit the battles weren't that hard (though I used completely different General combinations apparently.) but it was still a nice change of pace regardless.
Anyway, again, I'll admit the main-storyline wasn't the best, but that's really only one part of an overall good game.
I didn't say the game was bad though.
The thing is with Shuri is that she has the 2nd best modifier for nearly every formation and the best modifier for like...3, the only time you wouldn't use her as your tactician is if the enemy general has a really powerful/annoying ability or she wasn't available.
Overall its a good novel, just not one you play for awesome story. Memorable characters, a wide variety of types, and ok art/story/music.
