If you feel like it is, then go right ahead, some words are usually tricky, If i remember right theres kanojo for example, it might mean girlfriend or either just a call for random girl.

They're going to doom themselves if they're doing an ecchi flick.

Ecchi isn't all that bad IMO, but if they give it as much ecchi as Mahou Sensei Negima, THEN you could consider it doomed...

yes definitely majikoi isn't all about ecchi stuff it has martial arts and romance an tons of comedy
