If you can't beat arcade on Very Hard mode... Wow...
I understand if you are not proficient with certain characters, but I unlocked all the endings for the characters I liked on Very Hard mode. Tron's ending is the best.
Just don't get too "high" on your horse. Some people play it for fun, and some competitive.
It's one thing to be strong and give out advice to the ones you beat, but it's wrong to think that you're superior because someone can't achieve the same level of play.
I currently can't play online because of the instability of my net, but if I have to fight someone just to be ridiculed, I rather pass. My intention to fight players like you is that I can learn something from the pros.
Eventhough I'm the "strongest" in my group of friends but I don't ridicule them or feel that their inferior to me.

Considering that this is the first Marvel vs Capcom game I actually bought and that I'm using the 360 controller that came with my xbox when I first bought it in 2006, I'd say that there's nothing shameful in getting my ass kicked by the CPU in the highest difficulty.

There isn't anything wrong with that. She just needs to get off her high horse already. It's become rather annoying already.
Oya. I was merely ridiculing you for quitting. I am by no means a professional or even competitive Marvel 3 player. I am just competent at fighting games in general, and that helps a little bit. That comes from experience and practice.
Fighting CPU is very different from fighting players however in that one can't find any tendencies in a CPU except meaningless snapbacks and lots of throws. Players however always have those tendencies you can capitalize on. For example, when fighting SeriousSAM, I found that he really would spam Charging Stars with Captain America. It isn't hard to capitalize on that. He also didn't know how to block, so it was easy rush down.
My advice to everyone is learn to block. That will go wonders towards making you a strong player. It doesn't matter what you do or what the opponent does. Sure execution helps with combos, but if you can learn to block, you'll be a really good player.
To be a really good Marvel player, learning to use assists properly will make you good. I still am not at the point where I use my assists right, but I am working on that.
Anyway, the only one close to being at the pro level is KawaiianPunch. I believe he ranked 4th at Final Round XIV in Arcana Heart 3. I think he also did pretty well at NCI. However, that's Arcana Heart 3 and not Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
Still, he is probably the most knowledgeable about fighting games in this community.
Everything I've learned, I've basically learned by watching, practicing, experiencing, and asking questions. One should have an open mind and be willing to take criticism about their game rather than shove it back and ignore it.

Hmmm... I dunno how people will say about this statement...
..In my group of friends, I'm one of the best players(In Tekken 6, not MvC3) But when I go to the mall in my ton, Odds are I get my butt whooped.
Since there's no Arcade version of MvC3 in the mall I go to, I could only play with my friends... The copy of MvC3 I used belonged to my friend who was nice enough to let me borrow the copy to the point of me playing it more than he could when he bought it... Among my group of friends, only two of us had a console to play with, and since I had the copy first, I was able to practice more than my friend who owned the CD. When I played with my friends, the difference in our skill was clear... I did combos you'd sometimes see in youtube; hyper combos to x-factor cancel to another hyper combo, etc... killing his last (x-factored) character that had about 80% life... seeing this... I felt... awkward... Oh sure I was happy and confident about my skill... but... It's kinda weird...
Also, I think I can't call myself skilled when I haven't played with other people... I'm planning on playing with a few of my other group of friends (I think I have too many friends >_<)
...Aaa~nd to end my post, here's a video of a total failure in the game...
@rober no local gatherings amongst the arcade heads? Though with no arcade release (or scene in general) it kinda sucks finding local comp without asking around
really sucks that the netcode is so bad, does a lot of damage for those who dont have locals to fight. not only that, but bad habits, lag tactics, etc. Ive been playing ranked lately and its pretty horrible.
the reason why its kinda bad if youre losing matches to the computer is because it operates by patterns and reacts to button presses. granted, the AI in some games is obscene (whats up super turbo impossible cpu), overall its pretty stupid.

Pretty much everyone who lives in a different region will lag each other lol. And especially in mine, the only players that I can't fight "normally" is probably guys from South East Asia, and there's not many of them online when I decide to go online. lol Waiting for more than 5 minutes to get an opponent to find out that it lags... lol
I once tried using "Any Region" but the game fails to connect lol. Lobbies are a Hit-Or-Miss though, since sometimes I was expecting to face the same rank but got a some 9th lords in a beginners Lobby... >_>
And yes, There's no local gatherings amongst arcade heads in here too lol.
If anyone is curious, it goes as follows.
Amateur
Begginer
Rookie
Fighter
Scout - Advanced Offense
Ranger - Basic Offense
Lord - Stability
Judge - Advanced Defense
The first 4 are universal and the last four depend on your play style. 9 is the lesser rank and 1 is the higher rank.
So, 9th lord isn't really any good. Then again, Rank means nothing. You might fight out you were fighting JWong on his friend's account who is a Rookie.

At least it generally shows "how experienced someone is", I can make sure with the ranks which player is "equal" enough in time play.... lol
And the last part with JWong... lol not going to happen in my region though... Unless he was visiting South East Asia and borrowed a friends ID to play MvC 3 for the lulz. XD
PS: I'm going to try and play online again today for atleast 2hours from now.
Whelp, finally beat Arcade on Very Hard mode. My winning team? Deadpool, Wolverine, and my mango flavored Sentinel (he replaced Iron Man in the last round). After roughing through so many beatings, a little online play doesn't sound half bad.
Below is my general reaction to my aforementioned accomplishment.
