I also just got a copy of Ultimate, i'm trying to build a team based around defending Phoenix Wright until he gets to Turn About Mode. I am currently using Phoenix Wright on point with Modok barrier assist and Frank West Shopping Cart Assist. Modok barrier definitely helps protecting Phoenix as well as Maya barrier while he searches for evidence, and Frank West Shopping Cart helps people get off of me, but it seems that if they take out Phoenix, Modok can't make a comeback, and while I use Frank as anchor and hes made a few comebacks, its still a very hard fight, any suggestions on how to make the team have more synergy?
So far, the team looks good for Phoenix getting the evidence. Im sure you know this but i gonna say anyway. point of Wright is to get to turnabout mode as fast possible. If you can't make a comeback with MODOK, then I should say to get better with him. Its not best to rely on the anchor character to turn things around. I have seen good Modok players, he can be dangerous.
I was just about to say not to double post until I realized you were two different people...
Anyways, as Style had said, its not to depend on only an anchor is your point gets killed. You have to make sure you're comfortable with everyone before trying a gimmick concept like that.
Just spend on bit more time training, work on some MODOK combos and possible keepaways, and it should work out a bit better.
I haven't seen many MODOKs, but if it follows the general rule of "if you don't see it too often, and they suddenly show up, then that person is probably real good with them."
If I ran Wright, West, and Modok, I would use Modok as an anchor. He is an incredibly strong character if you know how to play him. West benefits a lot from meter, especially if you want him to get to level 4 quickly.
I am trying to learn Nova. I could use Zero on my team, but the way the buster works feels odd. I have not adjusted well to it. He does not work well with Virgil though.

Thanks for the feedback
Anyways, I used Nova for a while, and all I have to say is that his damage output is insane and you should really take the time to play him because he has good synergy with most teams. Zero on the other hand has a lot of options, but they are very tricky to get the hang of, and some of his buster combos are hard to do without a stick

I played Zero in vanilla, so I know most of his tricks. He also has even more set ups and mix ups being able to cancel anything into buster. I am used to his play style. I should probably just go back to him.

If you end up using Nova, get him as anchor. Along with the fact that his B-Assist is an overhead and leads to unblockables.
LMHS>MMH>Fly>MMHS>f+H>MH>Super Nova
Guarantees to a complete bar and hits hard in the end.
Careful with his crouching medium, since it goes pretty far and it is pretty unsafe. Try to learn all the special moves, since you can tie in Gravimetric Blaster after a qcb+L in the air. Plus they go pretty fast too.
His Rocket hyper has some good invincibility from what I've tried and seen.

I use cr. LMHS, j.H > Fly > j.H > Unfly > j.H, Land, cr. HS, j.HS, f.HS, j.H, Super for the BnB.
A modified version of this, mine does 720k about?
And the rocket is only projectile invincible. You can be hit out of it with any physical attack.

A modified version of this,
I use Hawkeye as Anchor at any rate.
Forgot to add S after f+H, I don't use Hawkeye so I can't comment much on him, but also a hell of an anchor given with his hypers.
I am using Virgil at my user and Hawkeye as my anchor, so I am searching for a point character. Thought about Wesker, Zero, Nova, Nemesis, and just about half the cast, but I find that Nemesis has the best synergy. I don not really want to use him though. I can use most of the cast at a basic enough level. I just cannot find anyone I am comfortable with.
Maybe I should use Virgil, Hawkeye, and Doom. When Virgil dies, I can switch to a zoning game with Hawkeye and Missiles.
Right now my main team is Viewtiful Joe, Arthur, and Morrigan. The team is pretty much a run away gain meter team, and it works really well, but i keep receiving messages saying I have no skill and that im a scrub for playing run away. So is run away an actual strategy or is it just spamming?
Zoning is a legitimate strategy as long as you know what you are doing. People who do not know how to deal with it are the scrubs. I occasionally run Taskmaster, Hawkeye, and Doom.
On a separate note, a patch is coming out next week. They seem to fix some glitches and include Heroes and Heralds. I hope they patch the concept of Wesker's sunglasses out as well. That was really dumb thing to give him.
Because in his original series, the only way he could progress is rushing forward. Just sayin' *Laugh*
In all serious though, running away is annoying at times, and looked down upon, but a good strategy to those who can't figure out a way to get around it (e.g. Super Jumping, out-zoning, etc.)
I picked up this game after a long time and I was pretty rusty. I ended up doing fairly well. I saw a lot of unique combos, and a lot of Weskers too.
I also found out I am only good with Nemesis, Virgil, and Hawkeye. Even though I tried to use Nova, I was not using him well in matches. More practice is needed I think. x-x
Heroes&Heralds is now out! I think since yesterday.
I like the mode, pretty fun. lots of cards. Still ragequitters. There are things missing, but I like it.
I haven't played for a few weeks up until sunday.
I do realize I have a bit of trouble against zone heavy teams.
At the moment, I run:
Laura
Vergil
Hawkeye/Leilei/Chun-Li/C.Viper/Iron Fist/Trish/Morrigan/Nova.
I run Laura as point and rush. Vergil is usually my point and anchor. My third changes depending on what I'm dealing with.
I realized I have a lot of trouble maximizing damage and keeping longer combos going without whiffing at some point. Does anyone have any tips as far as characters go (like if anyone happens to play whom I play), or any new things I should try out?
I don't want to try and pick up anyone new since I have a big enough roster as is to master.
