I wish they would just produce a game where all 3 metal gear protagonist ( solid snake, raiden[cyborg raiden hopefully, and Big boss) are playable. I mean if Kojima wants to stop making metal gears soon then this is the best way to do it.
The theme here is immersion and smooth, seamless transitions between actions and when going into or out of a cutscene.
Minimal hud elements.
No more side-menus; weapons and items are equipped via a radial menu a la Dragon Age: Origins. (You'll hear a comparison to Mass Effect, but another source claimed there were sub menus.)
Fewer cutscenes.
No more exclamation marks over heads. Detection system consists of audio cues and lens flares.
No health bar; there's a bloodied, red screen that gradually fades, implying there's health regen.
An expansion of MGS4's button prompts. For example, CQC holds will give you a button prompt for interrogation, throat slicing, etc.
Lockpicking.
Controls streamlined to use fewer buttons for otherwise complex actions.
Codec convos in real-time.
No more map or radar. Instead, there's a new projector gadget with functionality reminiscent of Dead Space.
Enemy tagging, like in the modern Splinter Cell games. No execution bullshit. You can only tag with binoculars. Tagged enemies can be tracked through walls and seen on projector map.
Can tag locations.
Alerted guards triggers slowmo. Kojima's rationalization is that it signifies Snake's reflexes and was added because you're no longer in a confined space, but an open environment.
I don't know what to make of those details yet. I like the focus on immersion, but then there's tagging, which lets you put arrows over people's heads and allows you to see arrows moving back and forth through the most impenetrable of walls. There better be an option to turn that shit off. The slowmo feature is just casual pandering nonsense. I better be allowed to purge the MGS universe of slowmo as well. Speaking of casual shit, let's not allow the health regen to go unnoticed. Are there going to be rations? If so, will it function like bandages do in Rage (by speeding up the regen)? First Splinter Cell, now MGS; this cherry flavored screen jam is an unstoppable fucking plague.
On to more important topics. I am very eager to learn more about the backstory behind this backstory:
Spoiler:
Kojima already admitted that it's existence is basically for cosplaying and merchandizing, but I would like to delve deeper into the history of that ass.
Paraphrasing: "the white bars appear during cutscenes, so it's probably an indicator that you're in a cutscene because the transitions between gameplay and cutscene is seamless."
If that's the case, then Kojima believes his audience are a bunch of morons. No, they more likely than not have a plot purpose, and I assume its existence will be explained in a mind fuck moment (assuming it has any major significance). Then again, Kojima is a known troll, so it's understandable if he's just dicking around with us. Considering the attention to detail and twists in previous games (ignoring the ret cons that didn't do their job properly), I like to think that Kojima's not just being an asshole.
If all the MGS fans and lore has taught me anything, its that you cant speculate on an upcoming Metal Gear title unless you want a headache. Err, well, a Metal Gear Solid title since Rising wasnt too deep. Still, MGS is kinda unpredictable in its story... So I find it best to make light speculation. Stiiillll hyped beyond reason for MGS5. Big Boss <3

Aaaand yay first post?
The only reasonable things one can speculate in the story without trouble
1) Kaz is torturing Huey to see if he leaked anything to Cypher/Patriots/Zero.
2) The new weapon to "surpass metal gears" is probably Arsenal Gear or Patriot AIs
Game length main mission is said to be 2 hours + cut scenes, while not completing side ops.
2013 news recap
I heard it had a high re-playability and a lot of collectables to compensate for that.
Yes gaming journalist say it's highly addicting to replay and the side ops. Also you need to collect all the "FOX Badges" to play the De Javu PS3/4 or Raiden's special mission Xbox360/one.
Imho it will be like MGS Peace Walker where the game is indeed short, but side ops will keep you busy for hours. Also note if you finish the main campaign of the game you will only see 8% completed. Means there are alot of things to do.
Saves also carry over to the MGSV Phantom Pain, which will give players who bought the game some base management advantages. Hint possible guns and tech Bigboss will will retrive through MGSV ground zeroes.

They better do.
They do it's confirmed by Kojima that the gamers that will buy this game will have an advantage on than people who did not buy this when The Phantom Pain arrives.
