How is the combo system going to work?
weird at first, since mashing A is going to be what most characters do, so A is your auto combo button, mash it 5+ times and you get a auto super at the end, it doesn't do as much as it would doing the actually button command for the super. There is no DPs just a pressure button command that acts like a DP, everyone has one

Will there be a lot of 5AAAA~ type of thing?
that depends on the character, for some zoning characters like yukiko and naoto, their combos aren't really so much 5A as it is B (projectile button) C (persona normal attack), and combo enders that push your foe away to continue the zoning game or sweep to set up an oki, you really only mash 5A at the beginning and then finish up with what ever the situation calls for which could be 236 or 214 (quarter circle forward or quarter circle backwards) and a button input.

Is that the only thing? Or will you end up doing a lot of different stuff to maximize damage?
Not really, some characters need C and D for more damaging combos, or "persona heavy" characters, it's sort of like 3 strike as when you start playing it and learn the buttons it's simple, then you really start learning somethings and it's not so simple anymore, and the combos get complex and pretty looking
A word to the wise, pick a character to the battle play that fits you, because some characters hp is much lower then others, so if you like zoning, better hope your good at it or be like me, have waifu syndrome and pick your waifu from P4 or P3 regardless of good or bad character
