Yep. Now that you mention it that all makes sense. Of course I never thought about since a lot of these plot holes were convenient. SO maybe it was just for convenience's sake?
Hai hai, P3 P4 hater here. Couldn't possibly pass this epic thread. What i wanted to say is, i just hope P5 will be like *P4 or Persona 2 story style with Persona 1 2 gameplay* As for social links, i hope they would be replaced with something more entertaining *i don't play games to hang out with chicks and some random ppl*.And last i hope for a reasonable soundtrack, something like this
And god forbid if they implement *Shadows* as main canon fodder again *which is imo lack of imagination/creativity*
Thats about all i think about the game.
P.S. doesn't matter to me on which console it will be.
I never played P2 since I couldn't get it to work properly on my PSP, but if it's like P1 battle style then personally I don't like it. You are entitled to your opinion though and I think you for sharing and posting in my thread.

If you haven't yet played Persona 2, i highly advice you to do that. After all this is the best Persona game i've played up to day *and i played everything except P3 Portable*.

You mean the recruiting monsters kind of battle system?
Also, it's highly unlikely the social links will be taken out. In P3 social links were actually very dull I know, but in P4 they managed to make them interesting enough that you'd wanna play through them. I believe P5 will follow the same lines.
And regarding the music, that sounds more the type of music for a DDS game than what we've come to know as persona type of music. Dunno if they'll go back to that style of music, but I find this unlikely to happen too.
Regarding the story, I don't quite see what you mean since i've only played a few hours of P2. Do you mean more mature characters instead of students for main characters?

Mature characters is just one of lots of aspects that makes Persona 2's story as good as it is.While P3 4 story was kinda *all around fictional/fantasy stuff something that one might come up with when drunk to a certain extend, so that you wanna shoot yourself or throw something into TV* Persona 2 Eternal Punishment's story was more *rituals/superstitions? style* I have to admit i'm still only halfway through Innocent Sin,but Eternal Punishment's story was as dark/captivating? as the original Shin Megaten games which can't possibly be bad. And demon communications were always my weak spot lol I just love to chat with enemies on the battlefield xD
I hope i answered your question * I just didn't understand from your post what exactly is expected out of my answer sorry*
I was just trying to understand better why you thought P1 and P2 were superior games in both story and gameplay to P3 and P4. What ultimately led me to stop playing P2 was the battle system, so I guess we really have very different tastes. Which, if they keep P4's battle system, will be fortunate for me and unfortunate for you.
I wonder why everyone stop plying Persona 2 just because of the battle system...
What's so bad about it? Yea it may seem complicated at first but overall it's simply perfect, and you can do alot of stuff in battle xD.
O well why do i even bother hoping for a good persona game. If i remember right P3 and 4 were made by a different *mastermind*. And since majority of *new to the series* approved of this *hanging out with chicks in a drunk guy's story* i bet he will make more of those. After all it's money what everyone is after these years.
[size=12]I've only played (haven't beaten yet) Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 4, both of which are great games. I'm sure P1 is good, otherwise there probably wouldn't be any Persona games today; P3 is supposed to be the best one so far and it looks that way, too. I hope P3P comes out in the U.S. and i wouldn't mind playing Persona Mobile (???) for cell phones either. Anyway, Persona 5 is sure to be good also, I just hope I beat the others first lol.
P.S.
Why is everyone bagging on P2's gameplay? All of the Persona battle systems are pretty much the same in my case...[/h]
from what i've read it looks like their gonna use the same characters from P4

good thing you said that, but if you were to compare the P1 and P2 battle system to P3 and P4, you will find differences, for one in P3 and P4 only your main character can change personas, in P1 and P2 you can converse with demons to become cards, give you items/money or to go away.
