My xbox 360 recently had a hardware failure so it seems like a perfect excuse to play some playstation two games that I might have missed. Anyone have any suggestions?

Metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty
Both games can be played on the ps2, despite one of them being made for the first playstation. Resident evil four was pretty good, and since you have it, I think you're all set.

Well if you want something really cheap.
Star Trek Encounters is like $10 and has some good gameplay. You don't even have to like Star Trek it's just mindless killing fun.

Yakuza 2: An excellent game that got almost no publicity. It's a brawler with heart.
The God of War series and DMC 1&3 are great balls to the wall action games.
MGS, does it need an introduction?
Final Fantasy X is a solid RPG
The Tekken games, Soul Calibur 2, or Virtua Fighter 4 are great fighters
Resident Evil 4 and the Silent Hill games are excellent survival horror games
There's plenty of racing games as well, ranging from Gran Turismo to Burnout
Big library of excellent games.
The God of War series and DMC 1&3 are great balls to the wall action games.

well if you're into mecha the Another Century Episode series is worth picking up. (liked the 2nd one the best)
guilty gear AC or AC plus as well if you're looking for a good fighting game
and namco x capcom for the lulz.
oh and sorry to hear about your 360. mine got the RRoD and didnt bother to get it fixed, saving up for a ps3 now
