Why would i want a gps on my gaming console? What's revolutionary about the games?
its more then just a game console.the games are the games not much too them.

Im guessing its because of the touchpad and the analog sticks and the sensors. And how games can be used for them.
What i wonder is why they're still using sixaxis, it was a failed joke at best.
PS3 six axis is used on my 3rd party games like saw and GTA IV. in gta you can the six axis to control the helicopters, boats, cars, motorcycles and do wheelies on the motorcycle's and to reload. in SAW (1 AND 2) you use the six axis for something as simple as balancing yourself on a beamboard.all of this can't be done on any other version of the game.
Im probably a minority here, but i miss the days when gaming console was about gaming, not all this other shit.
Good thing they added the gps though, wouldn't wanna get lost when i go from my computer to my toilet.

I know where and how it's used, my point is it sucks. It's just a failed gimmick Sony added to the Ps3 in the last minute because they wanted something to counter Nintendo's motion control with. Steering something with the sixaxis is fuckin horrible and they should get rid of it imo.

Times have changed.I don't like that too but we have to accept it.All companies copy each other, the only ones with originality are Sony and Nintendo. Sony copyed wii with PS move and Micro$oft copied sony(remember eyetoy?) with kinect.
On the other hand, it's not much more than the 3ds, which was a big disappointment for me. Still it's not like I have the urge to buy either of them at such a price when I could easily get another laptop for that amount of money.
I'll pick up a used one when it gets hacked sometime in 2012 or something.
Too bad you havta wait 3 years until it's affordable for us average mortals.
The price tag is said to be the same as that of a current gen console (so $200+).
Which simply I don't have that much money to "allocate" again currently. At last for 2-3 years after price cuts.
All my money currently is for buying PS3 games, which is already pricey on it's own level. I don't even have enough money to allocate for figures and Gundams anymore.
Similar to KLoWn, I don't think Sony knows where they're going with this. None of it is revolutionary, and a lot of it doesn't make sense; they're just throwing a load of popular shiny tech into the mixer. Why does it need Sixaxis, or the touch screen and touch pad? You can't play proper games if your hand is in the way of the only screen, and you can't see anything you're doing on the back. Coupled with GPS, is it trying to be a phone, tapping the casual games market? Because it sure as hell won't be able to compete with the likes of Android and iOS.
And then the HD graphics and controls. Why would anyone want to play a full gaming experience on a small screen with awkward controls and a limited battery? The DS works because it's pick up and play, simple gaming with good multiplayer. Besides, all of these games will be stored in flash memory, if I recall. How big will those downloads be? If you're usage capped like I am, this could be a big stumbling block.
People saying that the 3DS has disappointed them need to a) play on it, and b) wait for the big game releases, download store and other software updates that are coming up.
