And Mega Castform would just be freaking hilarious. Instead of just changing with the weather, it could automatically shift the weather to whatever is worse for the opposing pokemon, or something like that.

That's a good question. When I originally bought the GBA one, I wanted Sapphire, but the store was out that version at the time. So I ended up with Ruby.
But now, knowing how the legendaries moves work, I'll probably end up with the Ruby version again. (No charge Solarbeam and Eruption? Damn right.)
Ah, but you forget about the update to weather introduced in X/Y -- ability-induced weather effects only last for 5 turns.
Also, Kyogre is a better choice for the weather-related move. Auto-hit Thunder.
And its SpAtk is boosted through the roof in its new form.
Groudon, on the other hand, (while it is now fire type), has both Eruption and Solarbeam as its 'primaries' -- and both of them are SpAtk-based, which isn't its strong point.
That said, I got Sapphire the first time around, and now part of me wants to get Ruby...
But I REALLY want that Kyogre.

Yeah that's true. Speaking of Kyogre, if he does have a new form, it's probably either Water/Ice or Water/Dark (think of trenches in the ocean).
well maybe because Groudon will have a 4x weakness to water, kyoger will have a 4x weakness to lightning by making him flying, just a thought.

The next batch of CoroCoro information has been posted to Japanese forums and this batch showcases more information about the upcoming game Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. This reveals Mega Altaria, who is Dragon/Fairy with Pixilate and Mega Lopunny who is Normal/Fighting with Scrappy. It also confirms that when you change your Pikachu's clothes for contests, it gets special moves. Pikachu Rock Star gets the move Meteor Mash, Pikachu Ph. D. knows Electric Terrain, Pikachu Pop Star knows Draining Kiss, Pikachu Belle knows Icicle Crash and Pikachu Libre knows Flying Press

Yup, that's my same stance when it comes to megas. It's great for under used Pokemon like Houndoom, Mawile, and Altaria who need a little boost to compete against the top guns. It just feels pointless otherwise. Did guys like Garchomp and Tyranitar seriously need a mega one? They're already on 80% of all teams out there.

Personally I'd like to see a MegaFlygon, but at the same time I feel as Gen3 has gotten a lot of Megas. 5th Gen only has Audino, I'd like to see more representation for it. (inb4 5th gen hate ;__;)
