You can't even compare this to the awesomeness of Socom.
Actually, yes you can. It's made by the same developers in a similar style to their previous games. That's like saying you can't compare id's Wolfenstein to DOOM.

Yeah its a 3rd person but with the action just no.
This motherfucker has more Dislikes then Likes. Capcom is fucking up big time.
What can I say? People hate seeing changes to their beloved video game franchises, and Operation Raccoon City has a LOT of changes.
Gears of war operation left 4 dead.
You talking about Horde mode? I thought that was just a sidegame like Nazi Zombies? I don't really know as I've only played the first Gears game before dropping the series.
I saw that in one of the comments on youtube so i just posted it here.

Disregard that, took me a while to understand what you meant.
I feel as though that they have been getting too into the RE2 timeline. The RE series has dozens of games, but most are sentered around the time of the Racoon City outbreak.
I think that when you make a game, you wanna keep the story moving. This isn't even the RE game series anymore, but a shooter with the same plot. Right now, they need to either stop making games, or continue on with the story in after RE5, or inbetween the games, like some of darkside chronicles and code veronica.
The two I can't wait to play as are Vector and Four Eyes.
I agree with you on Vector. In the game, he seems to play the role of designated smartass, which happens to be my favorite character type. I don't think I'll go with Spectre. Don't see much use of a sniper rifle in a zombie skirmish. After all, zombies always try their damnedest to makes the situation a close quarters conflict. That said, I do like the chick with the machete.
"Operation Raccoon City is a team-based shooter according to the report, that has you playing as part of a team of Umbrella Security Service Operatives working to contain and cover up the epidemic, while wiping out any survivors. Your four-person team wil comprise of characters Vector, Beltway, Bertha and Spectre, and they're inspired by Resi 2's hidden character, Hunk.
You'll even be able to affect and even change the course of Resident Evil history in a darker storyline that will give you the chance to actually kill key characters in the series, including Resi 2 and 4 hero, Leon S. Kennedy. There's three factions in the narrative too, including the USS team, Spec Ops and the 'bio-organic weapons' created by Umbrella, including the Tyrant."
"
Capcom has officially announced Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which is exactly as reported last week, meaning that the Resident Evil franchise is going team-based and Vancouver-based SOCOM: Confrontation studio Slant Six Games is on development duties.
A team-based third-person shooter, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will reinterpret the events of 1998 previously cover in Resident Evil 2 and 3. The game will deal with opposing factions fighting amid the T-virus outbreak, where zombie hordes and bio-organic weapons (B.O.Ws) add an unpredictable third element to proceedings.
Players will take on the role of an Umbrella Security Services Soldier who is part of an elite team sent in to Raccoon City to destroy any evidence of the outbreak, which includes eliminating survivors. The government, catching wind of Umbrella's plan, sends in its own team of special forces to uncover evidence of the viral infection and expose Umbrella's nefarious actions.
Leon S. Kennedy will be on your hit list - as will other characters - and you'll revisit landmark environments like the RCPD station from Resident Evil 2 in single-player or four-player co-op as you battle with competing forces. Operation Raccoon City will also deliver a number of competitive multiplayer modes, each providing a unique gameplay experience centred around the three-way battle between the Umbrella Security Service, US Special Ops and B.O.Ws.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be re-writing Resident Evil history in winter 2011."
"Following on from the initial report and subsequent official announcement of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City last week, Capcom today released the debut teaser trailer for the winter 2011 title.
Developed by Slant Six Games, who are best known for their work on SOCOM, Operation Raccoon City will take players to... you guessed it, Mars... I mean, Raccoon City, where they'll take on the role of the Umbrella Security Services in a team based third-person shooter.
The object of RE: ORC is simple... head into the city and destroy any evidence of an outbreak, which includes killing lots of zombies - as shown in the trailer - and maybe curbstomping Leon Kennedy - who you see in the trailer also - along the way. Sounds like my kind of night on the town!
Expect blood, guts and hordes of the infected when Raccoon City stinks the house out this winter."
