Well one of he most scariest games I ever played and enjoyed at the same time, This game will pierce into your mind the best part: Free to play!!!
Slender is a free indie-developed psychological horror/survival horror video game released in June 2012 as a beta for Microsoft Windows and OS X. The game is based on the Something Awful forums' creation, Slender Man.
Slender begins with the player in a forest at night. The player is equipped with a flashlight with a battery which must be conserved. The player is able to jog for a short period to 10 various landmarks scattered throughout the woods including vehicles, a building, a giant tree, rocks, brick walls, a stone pillar, a tunnel, and fuel tanks.[2] Dirt paths are present, but the player is able to travel in any direction and is only bound by fences which enclose the area.
Good game for an indie developer. Startled me a couple of times especially when I got around 4 documents; I looked back and boom! Have you also tried SCP games? it's also a horror game from an indie dev based on the SCP website
Still, nothing beats Penumbra or Amnesia for that matter
I played this game a few time now. The first time I played it, I kept thinking to myself that it'd be OK if I didn't turn around and walk backwards if I needed to back track a little. Eventually I hit a spot where I had something block my way from going backwards, and had to turn around. That, gave me a good jump with I did turn around.

The staircase simulator and it's alternative versions are the worst. I saw people at their fifth attempt of SCP-87-B still ALT+F4 out when they reached a dead end, refusing to turn around. Unparalleled dread. Technically it's just walking down an infinite corridor and eventually your screen turns black and the game exits - yet I have seen people actually end up crying after they were done.
played this game at night, lights off headphones on, friend ran in screamed and banded two pots together, the only reason why I jumped while playing this game sadly, but it's not a bad game, there is just better out there I would say
I still don't understand how people find Slenderman or this game scary. I've tried to understand but it just seems like something that's beyond me. I haven't felt this left out in a long time, lol.

It's not scary. The damn thing looks like it crawled out of an N64 game. It's like if people thought minecraft was scary. I don't understand it either.
its the dark somethings following you not quite amnesia kind of scary, people who are used to scary will be pretty much immune. if anyone says they were scared of paranormal activity and not of this call bullshit on them because thats what it is.
I played Amnesia and was only slightly disturbed, and this game that looks like a PSP game with aliasing and semi-decent foliage.. is suppose to scare me?
Yeah this game wasn't that scary. I jumped a tiny bit when I first saw Slenderman, but the atmosphere didn't really phase me. I made my dad try the game hoping to get some kind of reaction, but he was just incredibly bored since he got lost in the forest for a good 5 minutes. And even when Slenderman did suddenly appear and kill him, my dad didn't care at all. He described the game as "a sleeping pill" lmao.
Looks like a cool game, if the slenderman didn't make me cringe from his terrible graphics compared to his surroundings. i almost laughed when it showed him in the video, all that suspense for a terrible model.
