The story progress in the beginning will not let you save until you got the chance to fight for the first time. That when you can save/load from and after more progress onto getting back and occupied Arawn castle you can play with option to save more often.

gonna try to play this again never was able to beat it cause the version I had couldn't save hopefully the ending to this isn't as sad as the ending to utawerumono...

Pretty much the same as Utawarerumono in this regard, yes.
Also, to those who had trouble before, part 12 seems to be working again now.

my esat nod32 doesn't like what it does with this one. The other links work fine with it it just doesn't like that one for some reason. Says its corrupted.
edit: it seems that my esat nod 32 corrected itself somehow and allowed me to open the file. Sorry if I bothered you people.
