TEKKEN VS STREET FIGHTER

I feel the same about Tekken actually, but maybe I was just playing against the wrong people, haha.

Thing is that you CAN'T mash to win in SF and most of the game is mindgames and mixup.

So my wins using button mashing+Dhalsim was all just an illusion conjured up in my mind?

And the persons that I fought that got pissed off, knowing they got beat by a Dhalsim kick/punch/duck/"yoga fire" spammer were imaginary as well?

btw, I use yoga fire through accident. I twirl the joystick and button mash, suddenly "YOGA FIRE!"

Played both games on an equal footing. but in the end Street Fighter wins my vote, I always like speedy combos compared to "HD graphics", and that's why I play with Lars in Tekken.

lol, Button mashing, it's your illusion, and you're probably facing the "wrong type" opponent.

I once tried button mashing + forward jump, but got ass-kicked by a calmer smart opponent.

You probably didn't try to go to the edge of the screen and spam the punches and kicks.

Then again, that only worked for dhalsim. once I got the opponent damaged, I just spaaaaaaam till time runs out.

Still, you're probably right. I probably faced wrong opponents. Though I do remember beating one who uses Sagat. He had around 4 straight wins already, and to think he got beat by me, lol.

lol, My opponent was smarter than mashers honestly and I was not using Dhalsim, heck I kinda hated that character for the fact that he can stretch his arms and legs till the point I once had him banned in our play circle in Street Fighter 2.

If this is the game where Dhalsim's arms go beyond half the screen, then you made a great decision.

I saw Street Fighter IV came out in the arcades and gave it a whirl. Used the same cowardly tactic with Dhalsim only to find out :O his hand barely stretches towards half the screen!

So in other words, I lost doing minimum damage and got powerbomb'd by Zangief

It's not about the characters you face, but rather the person you face.

If you're fighting against some guy who keeps getting hit by the same stuff and cant find his way around anything, then they need to re-think about what they're doing.

Street Fighter, why?, classic, epic and played since i was a kid in the arcades, like tekken too! but i prefer street fighter, although the newest versions, i dont like them.

Tekken...better moves. Wider range of movements. Bad ass combos. It's so easy to chose.

you really can't compare the two...tekken is a full 3D game complete with the ability to sway, and parry...two things not in the most recent reincarnation of street fighter.
Most people will argue that street fighter is superior cause of the need to learn footsies , mix-ups ,and crosses..but being honest that's a load of crap. Most Street Fighter characters will spam a single combo ,or simply pick ryu/ken/akuma/sagat and spam fireballs then wait till you get close and punish you out of the air, or sweep low kick you then run...In tekken this doesn't happen with the amazing parry system ,on top of the blocking ,spamming becomes pointless ,and highly punishable..also the amount of skill it takes to juggle a player well with anyone is higher than majority of the street fighter chars. (except c.viper..that bitch is hard as hell) so in short tekken has a better system ,and is more fulfilling to master...on the other hand street fighter has a better cast ,and a MUCH larger online community..sooo meh
