Other than the absence of a world map I have bigger complains. The game has become more unimmersive than its predecessors. Sure there are a lot of npcs but they don't even talk other than the ones that actually matter. But this is a small thing compared to how unimmersive its story telling got. The game starts with you already being in the train *which is in a cinematic* then fighting your way to Serah, now this is the introduction chapter a.k.a. chapter one. This introduction is so vague that it made my favourite character Lightning look like a twisted version of Cloud that grew breasts. A better introduction would have been the game letting us play the events leading to Serah becoming a Pulse iCie rather than just watching the short flashbacks that are quite annoying to watch. Every chapter god sandwitched by short and long cinematics dubbed by extremely stupid voice actors to the point that its horrible. In example Vanille sounded alright at first like a cute little american girl, then blimey suddenly she sounded like a british with an awkward accent then before I knew it she's an irish!
I found the story quite enjoyable from the get go making the characters easily connectible. Also, you're suppose to view Lightning as a twisted version of Cloud in the beginning of the game. You're making this sound like you haven't played very far into the game (Warning possible spoiler ahead). When Lightning has her epiphany later on in the game she stops being the twisted Lightning because she realizes it was wrong and that she was also leading Hope to a path of self destruction. It was planned for you to view Lighning that way. Also, she was designed off of Cloud so that explains the Cloud part.
As for the voice acting I won't go into any detail, but I don't find any of them annoying. I think they nailed every single character perfectly.

Next major complain GAMEPLAY. While the actual fight is quite amusing, challenging and generally fun to play it has a major flaw that hangs around like a bad smell. The god damned thing won't let me choose the character I wanted to play until the later part of the game! I could barely tolerate teaming up with an old afro hobo let alone control it for hours because of the game's arbitrary piece of shit. It's my team god damn it let me fight with my team the way I want to!
This makes no sense what so ever. You want them to let you choose your team when for the first 19-24 hours of the game most of the characters are miles and miles away from each other? Or are you simpley referring to you want to choose one of the two characters that you're partying with for most of the time. The entire team doesn't get together until way into the game and that's when you get to choose your leader and team as I am sure you know. It might just be you and your preference to do so, but I don't think the team thought it was a big enough deal to bother with having you choose one of the two characters that are together as your team leader since it wouldn't make any difference.
As for the easy part you're saying where the bosses are all shit; I really hope you're joking. You must be leveling and fighting every monster in your path if it's true because the Chapter 9 Boss is ridiculous. There is no way you fought a boss with 700,000 HP with multiple magic attacks and found it shit easy as you put it. After Chapter 9 even all the monsters go up several levels of hard. I'm not saying you're lying (well, I am, but not in the whole insult way), but I think you're over exaggerating the easiness of it.
I do realize that this is all your personal opinion, but I just had to throw my two cents out there on your issues. One last thing; Sazh is awesome.
Awesome game is awesome.
