Yes I know she becomes the cool, loving and lovable character I expected she is but this is not after a few chapters. If I was an adult working overtime with only FF13 as something to pass time I wouldn't have enough time to play to that point when she actually realized her mistakes therefore I would look at her until then as an unlikable character and if the character could barely care about what happens why should I?
Unfortunately, speculation and early assumptions is something that everyone does, myself included of course. If a person viewed Lightning that way and didn't want to finish the game or slandered her in a forum somewhere as being cold hearted then that person is to blame not the game or it's makers.

Commonsense of course in the limits of the current party! Remember that unlike the previous final fantasies here you can only control one person at a time even with the use of paradigm shifts. The least the game could do is let me choose what character to stick to but noooo I had to play the guy with a chocobo on his hair who probably has lots of chocobo poo on his afro already.
It might have been nice to choose a leader for each Paradigm shift, but I am frantic enough as it is now in the game without having to control anymore aspects of it. My only complaint that I really wish wasn't there was an option to get rid of that stupid auto battle tab. If I hit that thing by accident it can fuck up my whole plan from the multiple attacks that do multi-damage to ruining the stagger or at least half of it.

Heck, I fought everything in my path (with the exception of the monster it told you to run by) and still had trouble in a couple fights. Fighting everything along the way, I never really had trouble with regular mobs, but after a point in late chapter 9 I would come across a normal battle that would tear me apart.
Same here. It's like after Chapter 9 they decided,"This game is far too easy. What if we make the normal monsters as tough as previous Boss's from early in the game? Brilliant idea!"
I won't complain though. I love a good challenge except when it makes me rage. I keep trying though because that's when you get those awesome feelings of self satisfaction.
