"I drink tonight to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking. If you're going to lie, lie for a friend. If you're going to steal, steal a heart. If you're going to cheat, cheat death. And if you're going to drink, drink with me."
The words of the toast may sound soothing to some, but to Rudy they sound like feedback on a sound-system.
'Who is this blue elf-girl anyway? And why is she jabbering on when we should be getting down to business?' Too many questions rattled around in Rudy's mind and it was time we finally got some answers!
'Good taste in whiskey, though,' he thought, looking wistfully down at the amber liquid in the shot-glass. He hadn't eaten
and he was on the job, besides, he added mentally,
'Why would I drink to this blue-girl's toast anyway!?'
'First, I don't get to eat a great steak, and then I miss out on what would probably be the best drink of whiskey ever,' Rudy groused to himself.
"This is not my day," he grumbled aloud, softly.
"What is your will, m'lady?"
Rudy rankled at the archaic usage, but remained silent. Having already been rebuked for saying too much, when all he said was he was 'technical support,' and his name! This 'Sandy' was calling the shots, so let her deal with the Blue-girl.
