Summer Writing Contest 2012!

I'm not writing for the prizes either! I write for the sake of writing... and for a good review and critcism so that I may improve.

If you guys do win the prizes and don't want 'em you probably could ask Nikon to send 'em to your friends instead if they want 'em, just tell them to pay some share of the delivery cost reduced with Nikon's budget to send it to their places~

And if ya don't have any manga ya wanna get translated, just ask yer buddies too if they had any. Simple as that =)

But by chance, if you also got the FAKKU Writer title by winning the 1st place...

Nah, I'd just decline any prize whatsoever and tell them I'm fine with nothing. You mad?

So that means we have to rely on the judges' Credibility and ability to judge, right? Because people has no say instead of reviewing and commenting... hmmm...

People can review and comment on the individual threads of the entries as they wish. But they'll not effect our judging.

Regarding us judges, I can't say that we're the best of the best, but I can assure you that we'll judge as well as we can. Tsuyoshiro and Waar are whom I've put my trust onto, they're intelligent, well-respected and have their own fields of expertise, much like myself. Tsuyoshiro is the winner of the first contest ever to be held in this forum, and Waar has solid credentials, BA in English and more. As for myself, it'd sound like I'm bragging so I'll not say much, lol, perhaps someone else should speak in that regard?

I felt that a poll like the Winter Contest would just be copying it too much, while I admit to using similar structures like that one due to wanting to keep a level of consistency with all the previous contests because it just seems better to do that.

I guess so, too.


Honestly, I have doubt about the judging, (because i'm just new, obviously, and everyone in here's like a total stranger). Anyway, it seems that everyone is pretty much settled to that, so, sorry for questioning.

As for Rise I think his credentials include the experience of organizing large-scale events like various contests which turned out to be successful, and moderating or helping out in Role-Plays with lots of participants~

We could go the extensive and detailed way and list every single thing in the english dictonary as either a word or not a word but I'm pretty sure a general idea would be better. This is hard for me because I count every single thing I write as an important part of the whole writing, down to even the littlest commas or the amount of spacing. In terms of importance, things like that do not lose out against words in the way I write, and so it physically pains me to have to shorten the ~2,000 word thing because that means I either have to kill some words or say they're meaningless and just thinking about it pains me. Fuck you Scrabble! Names do count! I am not a cheater!

So do names count as words? Do "Ahhh"s and "Ummm"s count as words? Do sound effects count as words? Do vocal effects count as words? Do places count as words? Do made-up names for places count as words? There might be some other things I can't think of, maybe because it'd pain me to even think of them, so shit, you do it. I'm too gangsta for this shit.

I feel sad to declare that they all count as words. I hope you can cope with the word limit properly.

Also, paying utmost attention to even punctuation is a good thing, worthy of my praise.

Wait, so there won't be polls like last time? Why? I think it's fairer to give everyone a say in this. I admit I can't help feeling most of them are just gonna read one and stick to it, but I still think it's better.

Oh yeah and I have sth to ask. Supposedly I enter my story here, but then I want to submit another one, so could I forfeit the last one and submit another completely different story, since I can't have both?

Have I not explained it already? I'm not willing to copy the last contest any further, I want distinctions; differences between this and that. Hell, I feel that Xenon hates me for this contest, it could get worse at this rate.

Ahem. Anyway, what good is there from a poll? Do you wish for the fun, fame, or is it that you wish to see some sort of a popularity contest? Because I believe there are users who just votes whoever that has higher votes. There won't any special prizes other than some more respect and attention, you know?

Let us keep the differences between the two contests. I'm sure that the next contest in winter will have the polls.
