Two Roads Contest 2014

Looking forward to it.

I have chosen a winner- Xenon with Chronos' Purgatory really captured my heart at the end of the day. I thought it was possibly something that I ended up comparing each of the stories to (how much it affected me) and after re-reading all the entries a second time around, Xenon captured everything I wanted to read.

For me, The Logophile's Cleave made the 2nd place. Though it didn't capture my heart AS much, it was beautifully written and the story had a world that was very well fleshed out- enough so that I would want to see a continuation of it.

I'm entirely shocked. I simply wrote my piece and was satisfied at just that much, rather unsure in areas after re-reading what others were more critical of.

If you find it worthy of first place, then I am humbly honored with your decision. I almost feel undeserving because I doubted my abilities after analyzing its weaknesses. I suppose because of that, it's so much more surprising.

Thank you, CoffeePrince, for hosting this contest for us from the ground up on your own. Things like that don't happen often.

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed everyone else's submissions very much. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful perspective on intertwining the fate of two souls, and I think they really worked together to incorporate the feeling that this contest intended to bring out from us. So, I wish everyone a job well done in that regard.

For those still interested in testing your mettle in a competition of literature, the winter contest is still fairly new so feel free to try your best there as well. I'll be looking forward to those who enter.

I had the same feeling when I got honorable mention for the Winter Writing Contest last year after the responses I got from pretty much everyone else. Don't be humble. Accept it balls out! And really, when you think about it, if you're saying your story isn't up to snuff, and it won out over mine, then you're indirectly saying my story is crap. So, grats!

This sounds like a familiar conversation topic ahaha. Congrats on winning!



I'm with Xenon here. Thanks for hosting the contest (even if I didn't join in the end). This contest was a breath of fresh air and I think it was a nice step in a new direction for future contests that people may want to hold.
