I feel like even in the event the ring is stolen, it’s sentient and it literally latches itself onto the MC in chapter 6, because it’s feeding off of his abundant “gloomy energy” that he provides so much of. So the guy at the end of this chapter may not even have enough energy to use it properly. Who knows, though.

You know... I'd like to care where this story goes, but the protagonist is such a crappy person that I don't care whether or not he comes out ahead or not. Stories like this strike me as just as bad as NTR because he's only liked because of the harem mcguffin and not because he's the kind of man who would attract multiple women. Sorry but this one isn't my bag.
