Philological Note: Serotinous means "late-blooming."
The word is often used in reference to certain
trees that drop seeds only after a devastating
forest fire---which is analogous to this chapter,
in which a sexual/romantic relationship blooms
only after the tragic (emotionally devastating)
death of a mutual friend.

some sort of competition. I'm frankly pleased that
other members of the Fakku community seem to
be following my example.
Damn...the hits you in the feels. Great story. Love the art style of this as well. The friend having passed...hurts...gawd I don't wish that on anyone's group... whoever reads this comment. I implore you to please give your friends a hug...it can go a long way...
Hi there, JP culture lesson here! I’m sure the less dense of you probably figured out the plot post-nut, but on page 21 the couple is sitting in front of a home-altar where you pray for a deceased one. The lighting of a single stick of incense is a Buddhist funeral rite and is placed on the altar, as you can see on the same page. (Rice in a bowl that they liked to use is also usually here, as well as a picture of them and a vase with a single flower) So, the plot is that they feel the pain from the loss of their friend (heightened by the “uchi” feeling you get from an osananajimi in jp culture, but even western cultures can understand this pain) but still honor his memory and vow to move forward.
The art isn't necessarily my thing so it's not like it gets me off, but in terms of just story the last two Ruriiro Sugar works have both been really good each in their own wayðŸ‘
Sorry for the nitpick, but there's a typo on page 6's first panel, "Shinij" instead of "Shinji".
Anyway, nice little story, I'm sure Yasuo would be fine with his two friends being able to live together happily, and Shinji seems like a good guy too, still considering him his friend even after his passing.
What a great little story with a positive message and ending.
Sometimes things in life seem hard and scary but all we can do is try our best and keep on moving forward.
