...Well, that lecturer certainly looked suspicious.
I can definitely respect our protagonist though, he found out about her situation, but rather than get disillusioned or become a snivelling sad sack, he decides he's going to save her and take her away from that terrible place.
And in the end...Well, he made her happy. That last page...3 toothbrushes, with one of them being mini-sized?
Looks like he got her pregnant, and well, they definitely seem happy together and it just makes me respect him more.
A shame about the other girl, but he chose to save this girl and he did it thoroughly. And also...Who needs an art school when you can just keep drawing what(who) you love?
All that is happening to the first model (and implied to be happening to many others) is still keeping this off my favorites, but the ending, at least for these two, is just wonderful.
I thought the implication from the instructor and the other model when they returned was that the woman who was the protagonist's obsession was the boss. Her comment on the last page, "This is embarassing ..." is not about her being drawn, but about the fact that he thinks he's rescued her, when she was the boss of the debtor's prison.
I read it again, I think your interpretation is closer to what's going on. It was a "she's not here, you'll take her place" and the embarassment is over the fact she's pregnant. The third toothbrush could indicate it was a second child on the way.

I was hoping this was going to be supernatural, like whenever he drew a girl, she got excited (special ability, magic pencil, etc.).
