Quote me for being a paranoid, but Inaho's weird because Inaho's an alliieeennn! OOooooo~! Ahem. There's only a select few people in that anime thus far that either have a blatant disregard for life or unshakable composure and those people were Martians. It could be a form of mental defect caused by exposure to irradiation from proximity to the sun or the years of civil war. Regardless I'm interested in seeing what caused Inaho to act in such a manner.
I find it hard to believe that the Martians would trade anything military with the Earth after attempting genocide 15 years ago. Note that the news report claimed that fighting on the moon 15 years ago caused the Hyper-gate to explode meaning that mankind somehow forced it's way through a united Martian force to their moonbase, so they showed that humanity was capable back then. However 15 years is a long time and with Nilokeras(purple Cataphract?) the Martians either held back some ground-breaking technology like Nilokeras during the war(unlikely) or the technology wasn't there yet. Meaning the Martians may be fighting with more advanced technology compared to 15 years ago, however they still stick to some of their old habits as seen by the EM jamming. It's likely that the Terrans downed a few Cataphracts in the war which as they said lead to the Areion series, quite likely they have more Martian inspired technology so that's why I didn't say it was impossible.
In hindsight Terrans may not be entirely hopeless, but once again I'm regaled to the position of waiting until next week to be sure.
I thought flaming was where you insult the other person in an argument? I'm pretty sure the insults are supposed to be baseless as well. Also that Fate/Zero shot.
Heh, see what a revelation of the little princess being alive can brings out. I bet not only Slaine, but some other Martians will be questioning the reason of waging war with Earth should they know the truth (Count Crutheo, for instance, doesn't look like participating in the conspiracy to kill the princess since beginning).
It's also very good to see Inaho and crew brings down the enemy with wits, instead of using some kind of 'ohmygodwhatthehellisthat' secret mecha. Wonder if they'll keep this up, or...

Spoiler:
I don't think he's a conspirator, since if he was Trillam's clan wouldn't have to worry about friendly fire. Although his need for taking guilt over Asseylum's death is what makes me wary.

Agreed, being sensible is enough and more entertaining. Slaine will probably play the secret weapon role anyhow.

"meteor strike"
Heaven's Fall 2.0 likely.
Spoiler:
Called it. I mentally drew some parallels between Inaho and Emiya Kiritsugu. Which just makes the future of Aldnoah Zero so promising. Furthermore I'm quite glad they revealed Asseylum's identity right off the bat, no need beating around an obvious bush and this could result in a funny circumstance where pro-war and anti-war advocates end up fighting against each other. Now whether the anti-war advocates are squabbling over the rights to Earth or actually trying to avenge the pro-war advocate's transactions against Asseylum remains to be seen.

Spoiler:
Perhaps Crutheo will dies during the bombing after learned about the truth, but he'll manages to give his mecha to Slaine in order to protect the princess?
Also, since this is only 12eps by plan, don't think they'd be able to fit everything should they keep the princess' identity much longer.

Spoiler:
Or Crutheo refuses to believe Slaine being the dirty Terran he is, Slaine steals Crutheo's Cataphract to try and rescue the princess(might get violent because he doesn't know whether the Terrans are holding her captive or not), as a result Crutheo can't escape the meteor bombardment(seriously shouldn't he have a private carrier or something..well maybe he'll react too late) and dies. Whoops. Or he'll survive and brand Slaine as a traitor to the Vers Empire starting Slaine's new relationship with the Terrans.

Well, can't say more. Better wait and see next week, then.
I'm now curious at the Aldnoah: w/e that follows this. Zero means beginning, yeah? SO there should be more in the future.. right? right? PLEASE SAY YES!
At first I was pretty damn pissed at how Asseylum's identity wasn't revealed among the Terrans, but now I think that the potential for Rayet to back-stab them and get everyone screwed is hilarious (as unlikely as it is). I like the look in Slaine's eye.
Theory as to how the Leidenfrost effect causes the bullets to deflect. Leidenfrost effect is when a liquid is exposed to heat well above it's boiling point, but rather than evaporating completely only the bottom of the liquid evaporates and the vapor suspends the rest of the liquid in the air, which causes the liquid to form a bubble(cohesion) that will move around propelled by the vapors. Essentially the Cataphract's beam katana is evaporating the lead tip of the bullet and melting the rest(or most of it) causing part of the bullet to become the ball of liquid which is not only poorly aerodynamic but also influenced by the Leidenfrost effect greatly throwing off it's trajectory. Now what's interesting is that the Martian aligned his beam katana in a straight line to intercept the bullets, which means the bullets will have to pass through MUCH more heated surface than if he was slashing which is more likely to reach the Leidenfrost point, create a right angle with which to deflect bullets owing to the conical shape of the heat dispersion and lastly any bullets that come near the center are likely melted into vapor. It was very fun figuring that out.
A fellow chemist of mine pointed out that this is likely impossible since the plasma of the object is not solid and therefore can't provide a surface for the bullets to ricochet/skitter off of.

On the bandwagon for fighting an overwhelming enemy in terms of technological prowess. Interesting for a change, though I wish they made the earth pilots a little less ... immobile. Too few of the pilots just seem to give up without putting much resistance, a la queue of episode 4 where the katana wielding guy makes short work of the earth soldiers. Granted he's superior, but it was a stark contrast to the protag who shortly after, uses his side thrusters to maneuver and dodge. I suppose he's gifted, but most of the earth forces seem to be worse off then the beginner pilots, which strikes me odd considering they're supposed to be seasoned pilots (albeit, probably not combat-weathered).
Soundtracks pretty good, though I'd say Zankyou no Terror beats it on the OST front (which is hard to believe, because there's only praise for Aldnoah's OST). I just hope they can maintain the story without making it too cookie-cutter.
