[Anime] Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Air date Sept 19th)

Finally Dekomori takes the role of a supporting friend. It would have been too disappointing if she only played Deathomori.

That confession Yuuta made up was perfect. Its exactly how this kind of romance should happen.

Isshiki's confession, Kumin's sleeping rejection. 8/10.

Onto the storyline: Touka and everyone knows Rikka's chuunibyou is her way of reacting to, from her perspective, a betrayal or sorts by her family. She finally seems able to outwardly accept what happened, which is what occurred at the end of the episode. Despite that, I think she will keep wearing the Wicked Eye. Not because of what happened in the past, but because of what it means for herself, Yuuta, and the others.

I was loving the romance between Rikka and Togashi but now Touka has jumped in. I wonder how it's going to go... she took off her eyepatch.

This scene touched my fucking heart:

I don't know if she overcame it, she may have just done it because of the pressure. I'm sure her family and her sister has been doing it for a while now. Imagine how much despair and disorder she much be in right about now.

The boy(through evidence from her flashback in a couple episodes back), who she adopted Chuunibyou from, and the boy she was in love with and trusted the most, caved in with her family. Telling her to get a grip.

I can't imagine the condition she's in now.

If Rikka actually overcomes her issues next episode, even a little bit. I'd be so happy for her.

She's just so pitiful to me whenever she talks about the Great Tyrant's Eye or whatever.

You may be right, but the scene near the end, the one where she's sitting down and staring at the bento, seems to me like she finally accepts what has happened and is willing to face reality now. But thats just what I think anyway, 2 more episodes to explain and resolve everything.

They're under the bridge confession to each other?

I didnt think she would be the one to say "I love you " first, especially the way she said it so bluntly, and the end of the episode is really making me look forward to next week, also poor Isshiki, all he wants to do is get in dem pillows.

So many feels.

I'm with Nibutani on this one, I wanted to give Dekomori one big hug especially at the end.

I'm conflicted about this episode, mainly because the narrative is clearly pushing for Rikka to go back to her Syndrome. It could mean she goes back to the state she was in, or she could go to a state where her Syndrome is managed more in relation to reality like with Deathmori. It trivializes the whole conflict these characters find themselves in. Also, too much crying.

Ignoring that, it was really good. Yuuta's stuck with making Rikka and himself feel miserable in the hope that Rikka will be better off once she adjusts. Or he could let Rikka live out her fantasy and hope reality doesn't decide to blow things up in her face. It's something of a lose-lose situation all around.

The episode was good at driving home the point that she's trying to move on.
But it feels like she's just trying to do so to please everyone else around her, without really having coming to terms with her feelings. Well, last episode next week... Let's see how everything gets resolved and whatnot.

This is definitely the saddest episode since Rikka went back to her old home.

I knew everything wasn't going to be alright at all with this episode. They're just plastering smiles on their faces acting like everything is okay, when their lives were just flipped upside-down.

The way I see it, Rikka could just ignore her Chuunibyou and act like she is happy with her small-knit group, and unintentionally cause trouble for her parents.

Rikka copes with it, and shakes the balance of that tightly-knit group. As far as I see it, clearly nobody is happy with Rikka's change other than those that wanted her to change in the first place. It really just is lose-lose, but one is more painful than the other that'll lead to a more honest life. No more lying to herself.

I was crying because I had a realization similar to this as a kid. I'm sure everyone was like this at some point as a kid, acting like a superhero and role playing with powers it really breaks my heart. Never had I even thought I'd be crying for Sanae. Sanae was always the energy and the eutusiasm of this series, and to see her cry like that was truly crushing. Yuuta and Sanae who were victims of Chuunibyou knew all along that their delusions were just that, delusions. That their actions in reality looked just stupid and irrational.

For a 12 episode series this series is the absolute shit. I love it to death. I really hope they don't force her back into a Chuunibyou, I feel like everything they have done will have been for naught.

On an unrelated note, I'm surprised they didn't have Yuuta at any point of this series say the battle cry. I was really hoping he'd say it at least once, but at this point I don't think there's an appropriate time for him to do it anymore.

...I must be missing something

To me it just seems that Rikka just liked being a chuunibyou and just misses all the excitement it gave her. She is genuinely interested in all of the same things, such as the stones, and the various things in her room. (not just because she is running away)

Next episode seems like it will just be about meeting on a middle ground. Where instead of using Chuunibyou as a way to run away from the fact her father died, she just does it for fun.

Seriously they all need some life!!! ... maybe drops them all into freeing sub-zero water for a second?

This episode got really serious really fast, I expected when they had to tell Dekomori it would be dramatic, but I wasnt expecting it to be o blunt, it was kind of sad watching her go at it, although it was nice to see Nibutani being kind to her, I really cant wait to see the finale next week.

That was painful to watch. Like Zero said, Rikka will be Rikka again soon enough. This entire episode she just didnt feel like herself. Dekomori was over sold with the kicking and screaming style of crying.
