Yet another episode.
Me likes.
It was a good episode, but I felt that people who have not been either reading MuvLuv: Alternative, or Total Eclipse side-story, will not get everything. This is a bit of a problem,
especially for characterization, because some things will not make sense unless you know the background...which the show does not...show.
For stuff like Cryska's amnesia and Yuuya:
Cryska's behavior is not an inconsistency in writing. It's Soviets literally messing with her brain. Since she's an ESPer, she's not really viewed as a person - but an accessory to Terminator. ESPer pilots are more or less psychopathic killing machines, and once they get going you will have to kill them. Her previous behavior to the brats was a result of her mental blocks fighting off the urge to kill everyone in the room to protect Inia. It's kinda like a safety switch on the gun. It's meant to stop ESPers from going berserk, but also from doing something to their own allies and themselves (like dabbling in minds of high-ranking party members).
After that incident however, Cryska's keepers had to "modify" the blocks to allow her to be rougher towards other Soviet pilots, to prevent something like that from happening again.
And obviously, you can't have Americans saving Soviet personnel.
Again, Yuuya's reaction is a bit less of angst (initially), and a legitimate fear of someone who never was in combat with BETA before. If they asked him to blow up the Soviets, he would probably be more confident, given the USA's moronic decision on focusing and anti-TSF training over anti-BETA training. After that...well, you'd be pretty frustrated too if you had a gun that fires 800 120mm rounds per seconds that can sweep the battlefield in five seconds and save everyone, but you're prevented from pulling the trigger by lolpolitics.
Speaking of which, in Light Novels, Yuuya is considerably politically savvy. The drone incident several episodes back was in fact very different in LNs - there Yuuya on purpose breached Soviet airspace to take shots at Soviet training drones used by Cryska and Inia. He wasn't punished for it, but the entire incident was swept under the rug, leading him to (correctly) assume that someone has a serious hard-on for spying the Soviets and gaining detailed data on Terminator, especially since no-one gets as much as slap on a wrist for downing Tarisa's F-15ACTV in opening segment. In fact, it's never really mentioned again by base command, which is a bit suspicious for friendly-fire accident...unless of course, they deliberately set the whole thing up to observe Terminator under battlefield conditions.
For actual episode itself:
Glorious Terminator is Glorious Terminator. Still, it's not as awesome as MiG-29 (which has four chainsaw blades), but hey, better head design.
Anyone else got chainsaw sword vibe from Warhammer? And even bigger Warhammer vibe from that railgun? That thing is like Heavy Bolter on crack. Even more so since it fires 120mm rocket rounds at 800 or so rpm. That blood mist at the end was delicious. Such a shame it's not a fully practical design.
First kid down. More to go. Don't worry, Kamchatka arc is not ever yet, so our Tank-strain friends will get their desserts yet.
VG's rape face is a sight to behold. And that Turkish guy is already a huge bro. They should put him in more often.
And for the love of God Yui, just have sex with Bridges already. Prolonged sexual tension ca induce stomach problems, fevers and all other bunch of stupid stuff.
