Anime Noob?!

Anyways!: I think that they can be saved somehow, I'm just not the person to do it! "i may be a laid back person, but i have my limits with people." I have only saved 4 Narutards...I grew to hate them even after saving them...but thats a different story! :}

Some of us didn't open our mouths, but some people definitely did. "The good ol' days" don't exist, they never existed. You have given yourself the illusion that noobs were better before than they are now. That's not true, it just seems that way because there are more of them (and there's the Internet as well). But there are also more of "us". Did you forget how many people back then praised Dragon Ball Z? Additionally, being a noob tends to make one more receptive to the positive qualities of other noobs. Now that "we" are "above them", suddenly they seem a whole lot worse because we can no longer understand that mentality.


You might have been better, you might have been worse, but you are saying that they are somehow different from the generation before, different from the noob generation you were a part of, a "new generation". That difference simply doesn't exist. Also, see the points I raised to g-money.

One of my college buds was an anime noob. I showed him the way to enlightenment, though. I introduced him to a good number of animes and manga's he'd never heard of, and I got him to watch them.

Ah I see. The way of peace is often a hard one to adhere to my brother. Open your heart and show your patience to those who do not share the true path of Otakuism with you. Try to help when you can, and leave them to their devices when you can't.

Also i do remember my DBZ noob days very well, A few of my close friends are still in there Noob stage! I have not lost my ability to see the Anime world Any differently than they do, because everyday brings new Anime, Manga, etc.(which brings me new excitement). The Only thing that bothers me in the first Place About this new Generation of Noobs is there tendency to behave irrationally towards other Anime fans, bash things beyond necessary if they don't like it, And claim to know more than they really do.
Personally i never witnessed this behavior from Previous Generations. But as you said, The fact of the Internet And the Fact that Anime has Grown so "Media Popular" over the past few Years could have played a major role in there sudden behavior...IDK?!

@DarkStar: Congrats! BTW, Do they still try to watch new Anime or was it a one time thing? And do you remember the Anime you Introduced them to?

Oh I didn't know that I didn't see anything about it on the front page so I just assumed that the system was down and needed to be repaired. I didn't know that it was a test. Okay well that makes sense.

I'd say that those Narutards or w/e they are called started out when Naruto got imported to the U.S. Like for example: Some 10 yr old kid or something died by watching Naruto and doing the same shit that Garaa did..Have you guys heard about it. I simply avoid/ignore narutards and bleachfags as much as i can specially IRL since most of the time all they talk about is the fights and not the story. Never had the experience of being called a noob by a noob but I did have my share of wannabee , self-declared Gundam "fanatics" but turns out they're just casual fans.

Uh, every single one of the people who watch anime, manga around me are bleachfags and narutards, many of them know them to the fcking detail that I dont. I seem more of a noob to them cz I dont watch that shit.

Ahh yes, I've run into several anime noobs who know of only the animes that cartoon network, and now Scifi (I refuse to say SyFy) has offered them.

The first thing I do is pity them for not knowing anything other than the mainstream. Then I try to educate them on the joys of some anime they've never seen which are incredibly good (like Higurashi, Shakugan no Shana, Azumanga Daioh, Claymore, etc. you know, some of the best ones). However, if they are too far gone into noobiness and try to insult me for not worshipping Naruto and Bleach then of course I laugh at their idiocy and tell them to have fun with being a dumb shit who's missing out on a lot.

Hopefully, someday, these anime noobs will learn to listen to those who have seen more and know more than them, but unfortunately that day seems far off.
