Best Harem Lead

Looked into the first five pages, but I can't find such thread, so I decided to make a new one.
The title explains all: just who is the best harem lead you know?
Not just limited to anime, manga and VN counts as well.
As for me, it would be Rance from Sengoku Rance.
I mean, he rapes all the girl, and they love him after all? That's epic.

I guess it would be inappropriate to say Makoto from school days since most of his endings in the VN and the anime's ending leads to death so since most harem leads usually fall in the same archtype I would have to say Ken Sugisaki from seitokai no ichizon for his more unique personality and blunt openness to his desire for the legendary harem ending.

Ah, forgot to mention Keima. He is truly the God of Harem.
And pardon me, just who is Ken Sugisaki? I kinda know the name, but forgot what anime he is.

Problems with Rance is that, he doesn't really care much about his harem, he just want's to fuck. So, I don't think he's the best. He even has 3 Girls tied with his destiny, but 2 of them HATES him so much. And he never plans to keep any of his harem. Best Raper yes, but best harem lead, not quite.

Best Harem Lead is of course Keima Katsuragi and Sugisaki Ken.

The point for a harem lead to be the best is the ability to keep his harem in control and making sure that each girl in his harem loves him.

Making sure that none of them feel heart-broken is the redeeming quality of a best harem lead.

This one indeed!

But you guys need to understand that "Harem Lead" as an archtype has various archtypes such as:
Caring Lead(Ken Sugisaki winzors!)
Heroic Lead: that attracts women with his skill/power(Probably a tie between Kazuki Shikimori from Maburaho and Akuto Sai from Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou)
Misunderstanding Lead: Doesnt even notice his harem/fails to recognize its beauty and chooses the dimwitted girl that actually has a "deep bh background"(All the Navel leads >.< especially Ore-tachi ni tsubasa wa nai's lead)
there are many more and you could probably sub catagorize these sub catagories but I'll leave it at that

From the looks of posts, I have deduced 2 things:

1. I looked up Ichizon, and it seems interesting. Seems as though Ken actually cares.
2. I REALLY need to watch The World Only God Knows.

yep, you REALLY need to watch it, though the hard part about Keima's harem in his real world is that he can't have a steady relationship with any of them, expect for elsie, haqua, and that other white-haired demon girl...

No, he's indecisive and is still being pushed around by other girls. He's one of the worst harem leads. That picture doesn't represent the "real" Rito



Underrated anime, that's being compared to Lucky Star. Ken earnestly Loves all the girls, It's harem or nothing at all.

That maybe so, be he sure does have the best goddamn harem.

IMO the best lead would be the one and only Keima Katsuragi.

Ken Sugisaki. Far more so than Keima. Keima may be good at establishing and maintaining a large harem, but his actions towards them are a means to a end. Keima does not engage with his harem with the intent to establish a long-lasting romance. Rito and Tomoki are in similar situations as neither of them intend to establish and maintain a harem; it all happens outside of their control. I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but I actually think Rito and Tomoki are better harem leads than Keima, since they actually care about the girls. This is different from Keima since (manga spoilers):

He would be a better choice than some others, but he is romantically involved with only one female, with the rest just satisfying his "parts" fetish.
