Code Geass R2

I don't think the source of the Geass is the Kamenijima Island ruins. I believe Schneizel mentioned something about there being multiple ruins and that having access to those ruins could help against the Emperor. So, the power may come from Kamenijima, but only because it is the closest 'gateway' to that power. I'm thinking of the Sword of Akasha as being the 'central hub' that controls the 'gateways'.

I thought Lelouch had already used the geass on himself to defeat Mao, how is it possible that later the emperor is able to use his on Lelouch as well? Does this mean different geass can be used even if they grant the same ability? I may be wrong in my assumption that both his geass and the emperor's geass grant the same ability, the emperor's geass seems like it may allow him to craft memories as well, they just seemed quite similar. Either way, if someone can clarify this I would greatly appreciate it.

Lelouch did use his Geass on himself. This means that he can't use it again on himself. This doesn't mean that others can't use their Geass on him aswell. If they did have the same Geass, then it's possible that the Emporer wouldn't have been able to use his Geass on him (I don't know myself as there has only been 1 battle of the Geass which was between Mao and Lelouch both who had different types of Geass) but the fact that the Emporer could use his Geass on him suggests that his Geass is different to Lelouche's.

I have already confirmed that any geass user can affect any geass user, although they have the same kind. In the game, the main character has a similar Geass to Lelouch's, absolute obedience. After the fight against Mao, you can choose to use Geass on Lelouch, to forget that Mao ever existed, to help C.C., the main characters Geass affects him. And I already said that each person will have their own kind of Geass, so no problem on using it on another Geass user.

Kallen Vs. CC

"Heaven or Hell ... Let's Rock!"

It's going to be hard to top how awesome this episode was. Kallen gets back into her old outfit, and we see her with just a towel. CC gets to change into her new outfit, and she and Kallen have a little "talk". My favorite moment had to be when Kallen barged in to the meeting room saying "CC! Why couldn't you have been the one to wear the bunny suit!?" That made my day. We also see Shirley being madly in love with Lelouch again.

Lelouch is under tight observation from the Secret Intelligence. We find that Villetta and Rolo are both a part of it, and Rolo isn't very nice to other people. Apparently, Rolo's Geass gives people's minds, within a certain distance, an illusion of lost time.

Many (former) members of the Black Knights are going to be executed. Lelouch lures Rolo into a trap, but Rolo uses his Geass to take the gun from Lelouch's hands and points it to Lelouch's head from the side. The Chinese have suddenly stopped protecting the Black Knights.

Also, Suzaku is fighting on the frontlines, and Schneizel gets 8.21 seconds of screen time.

Viletta seems to still have feelings for Ougi. Although, I think everyone knew that?





And how gay Rollo is with his locket.

Awesome episode, i realy loved the flashback of Lelouch and Shirley...

I figured Villetta still had some Chigusa-chan left in her, seeing as how she didn't kill Ougi outright. As for Rollo, well, that was so blatantly obvious from this episode about he loves his girly, heart-shaped locket that I figured it wasn't worth mentioning. He's obviously not going to kill Lelouch (even if Lelouch wasn't the main Character), at least, not when he can see his face. He might try to kill Lelouch when he's Zero though. Sort of like how Kallen is Zero's slave, but doesn't like Lelouch at all. In another forum, it was suggested that Rollo may try to kill Nunnally to replace her as Lelouch's sibling since the deal with the locket comes off as very, very odd.

Wait, something doesn't add up for me.

So, I was wrong with the Vincent being the micro-port mecha, and it seems that Rollo's Geass is in fact area-wide hypnosis for a few seconds, but that still doesn't explain one thing:

How the hell did hypnosis let him dodge the suicide strike and it's subsequent explosion in episode 2? That doesn't make any sense. unless he can hypnotize the explosion to...I dunno, not explode for a few seconds.

I'ts time-manipulation not, hypnosis. Anything that gets in range of his geass, will have their "time" controlled by Rollo, his Geass is like Mao's Geass, works with a radius range not a single person.

Rollo's Geass doesn't affect time directly, but the target's perception of it. Within his sphere of influence, time moves normally for him, however, the victim's perception is either slowed down or stopped completely, I'm not completely sure of the specifics.

How can Rollo stop the explosion of the Knightmare in episode 2 if his powers only work on people? It seemed to me that Rollo didnt know that the Knightmare was going to explode until the last moment. Since Rollo's powers supposedly only work on people, how can he stop an explosion from happening long enough for him to escape?

I believe Rolo's geass only affects people within a certain range. And it only puts them in a state of hypnosis so that he may move freely why they are "stunned". It does not affect time, because if you watch in the episode when he uses it the waterfall is still flowing. You can also see the radius in the form of a sphere. Then when he stops it or the time runs out, it seems like he warped in a flash. So if someone looked a watch before he used his geass they would actually be able to see how much time elapsed if they checked again after he used it. I hoping someone does that so we can tell if he can cancel his geass freely or if it's timed.

It feels like a plot hole. The only thing I can think is that Rollo physically dodges the attack and actually get hits by the explosion. We can't say for sure if such a high-end Knightmare would even be damaged by an explosion. It's also possible that the Knightmare itself has a special system implemented, like the Siegfried.

Actually, he does get hit with Urabe's blade, because after he ports from the explosion, you can clearly see his right pauldron cracked and venting steam.

Though, the idea of his mecha being so top-of-the-line that residual explosion don't affect it makes the most sense so far, if you imagine it like this:

Rollo gets stabbed, the explosion occurs, and just as the flames go up, he freezes everyone, runs a few steps, and then drops to one knee because of the damage, and as he does so, the Geass wears off.

Though, that raises another question: Can he control his sphere of influence, or is it fixed?

I mean, does it work as "The shorter the bubble, the longer the effect", or does he just have a set bubble size of say, 10-15 meters?

Also, I'd go so far as to refute it being a time stop, for two reasons:

1: Geass only affects Human mind and perception, far as we've seen. Lelouch's Command, Mao's Mind Reading, the Emperor's Mind Rewrite, and now Rollo's Mass Hypnosis. the thing they all have in common is that they only affect the mind. Same as C.C.'s whateveritis.

B: If it was in fact a time bubble, then when Rollo went and stabbed the subordinate in episode three, the subordinate wouldn't have fallen face-first into his own blood until the Geass wore off. However, by the time Viletta gets to finish her sentence, the guy is several seconds dead.

You do see Rollo's Knightmare going through the explosions from the enemy Knightmares all time, so it isnt too hard to believe that the last explosion would have any effect... But it does seem to be the most useless self sacrifice i have ever seen in anime.

Now that I actually watched the whole series again, I can't help but wonder if Suzaku already has a geass after meeting V.V. (I was confused at first since the scene where he shows up isnt that long and I kept confusing V.V with C.C... Damn witches with their short 2 letter names.)
