This is great, as it turns out Darker than black is one of my fav's. So I can't wait for season two. I did however find a new manga of Darker than Black on Mangahelpers.net which I believe takes place after the anime series. anyways this is great.

I think this would be an interesting sequel as well.

Got some new pictures from NewType, new characters will be in too. I mean, they should add some kicks for Yin and Hei.



I think the sequel will focus more on Hell's Gate and Hei's investigation on its deeper mysteries, maybe will it be the same as the Limitless Fortress angle on GetBackers, where they explored this mysterious building. Who knows? Maybe they'll see more Contractors with much weirder remunerations than smelling smelly socks :)

@jmason: you did even better than what I had expected (you even nailed my thoughts somehow). I knew I can count on you, thanks again for taking away a few load off my back.

Two or more contractors are definitely more than welcome but too much of a nuisance wouldn't be so good either. Well, considering that this is supposedly a sequel, it ain't really that surprising to see them replace a few character openings... Chances are, this may not even have too much of a connection to the first series at all; depending on that red-head's role/importance, as I just have a feeling that this will focus in on her rather than of Hei & Yin.

Certainly, the series still has a wide variety of angles to work on with. There's just no telling what the creators have decided to go along with...

PS: When you said benefactor, were you referring to me? It sure has a nice ring to it, although I couldn't really take the credit for those images myself, can I? :lol: -Cheers to the real scan/image provider. :)

Ugh, that picture makes the second season seem a bit too... happy. I enjoy happy/cute moments in my more serious anime, but it all goes downhill once they start to overdo the happiness/cuteness.
The second poster looks fitting for the feel of the series, however.

They certainly can play more angles around it. The biggest angle they can toy with is, what exactly is Hell's Gate? Too many questions were raised as to what Hell's Gate is in the first part, but most were left unanswered. Maybe we'll get to know the answers with this second part once October comes.

I've added the sequel's synopsis and a 15 second commercial (up front) confirming that the sequel would indeed air this coming October.

After everything that took place in the previous series, just what the hell did that guy went through to look so damn rugged like that. :roll:

@jmason: I'm quite interested with the romantic angles and interpersonal relationships as well.

As for the seiyuus, the three recurring major characters from the first series (Hei, Yin, and Misaki) will have their original respective VAs back; Hidenobu Kiuchi, Misato Fukuen, and Nana Mizuki. Kana Hanazawa meanwhile, would tackle Suou Pavlichenko's role as one of the new characters in this sequel.

I was disappointed by the promo, as I wanted some action shots spanning at least a minute, but hey, can't always get what you want.

FYI: the first vid was only a "commercial" (CM) which aired during Basquash!'s (awesome series) episode 18.

I'm interested in following this second season, looks interesting. Although I haven't watched the first production yet. So I decided to try it out and I'm 4 episodes into the story now.

Pretty boring thus far. It alright, but there hasn't occurred any scene that surprised me or anything. Let's see if there'll be any improvement.

Heeey, wait a minute. What's this? An anime that looks awesome but I haven't watched it? It looks seriously interesting, and you say there's a first season out there? I'm right on it to watch that, looks very promising.

Well now, I guess Hei is now a rouge "Hero of justice" for contractors and such? Well who could blame him.. just about every1 is gone now he's got to be bored, I'm glad to see there are new contractors and new epic battles will commence. Looking at this picture those 2 will be new main charachters and Hei with glasses?! I agree with you Hermit! It IS win!
