Got home from work and just finished watching Episode 1 of this new DtB installment. It's great - fighting scenes ae tastefully done, and not to mention a few interesting plot layout - especially the Gates. Wonder how they'd make it more interesting than that.

I'll still be on tethers for the next episode.

Alright, out with it. I can't really say I'm that impressed with what I've seen in its first outing. Shame that I had to see this after some pretty awesome new titles I've been eagerly anticipating for this season, which probably is the main reason behind it.

God I hope they explain the Gates better. In the first season they pretty much said "These are gates, they are important and mysterious and that is all you need to know"

No wai. I swear bullets and comparable objects took a few chunks out of him during S1. Here, he just stood there and took it, as if the bullets were airsoft pellets.



Well, yeah, I assumed that myself. I was more along the lines of "Why am I not seeing Yin?"

He's using the coat during the first reason, I clearly remember that... during the time he's with the doll chick at the beginning.

I'm not complaining about DTB 2. And I really love how the producers reeled us in with the bait as soon as our fanboyism kicked in for seeing Lee Sheng Shung. Seeing that weather woman is dead does this mean that the whole original team is dead now? I mean ice man is dead (forgot his remuneration, was it smoking?), the boy is gone now and she is dead as well.

Except I don't ingest and that I chew-to-spit specifically cigarettes only, nothing else.


If those "comparable objects" you're referring to were contractor-ability related, then that's quite a different matter. Bullets may be bullets but are still mere bullets; nothing special in comparison to supernatural prowess.

I don't really remember the exact details myself but Lamz pretty much got it, I think. Well, how about a screen cap of Hei in action deflecting bullets with his coat from S1.



"weather woman" - April's death isn't all that confirmed yet though I must say it's way past about time
"ice man" - November 11's long been down under
"the boy" - July is well as August 7 has implied

Considering the part after the ending, my guess is that we can call April dead for sure. Last words and body bag, unless the scriptwriters pull out some nasty plot hole-like prank, she's gone for sure.

episode 1 wasn't so bad to start things off

If the OP is to be of any indication about who will be the main focus of the show, we're screwed big time since it has more of that damn squirrel than of Hei and Yin.
Also what the fuck is with that long ass rifle ??? Haven't seen weapons this ridiculous since Ga-Rei ... On a bright side though, it means that Suou won't be just some useless, crying girl throughout the series (seems already to have passed that stage) and might actually kill something.

Ep 2 itself owned though. Another stunning (albeit short) fight to start things up (I already love this girl, especially for that awesome remuneration of hers) and fuckloads of action and interesting characters along the road. Speaking of which - is it just me or are these new contractors a hell of a lot stronger than most of the season 1 cast. August7 is versatile as fuck, Hazuki fought Hei on equal ground and Genma turns into a big ass stone golem ... gonna be a hard season for Hei.
On a different note we also got short glimpses of both Misaki and Yin (who seems to be missing ... or worse). Makes me glad since I love both and hope to see a lot more of them.

April's powers is controlling rain. Nothing more nothing less. ANd the reason why the speed guy lost is because April fired a bullet which was cloaked with the rain drops and so when he looked right in front of him the bullet was carried with raindrops.

I don't think it's as simple as how you said it...

there's several holes in the body

for just one bullet to do the trick

no gunshot was even heard

and if the bullet was really cloaked

how was he able to scream

in short notice and for long?

and how come a stray cat

got caught in it and was killed as well?

Maybe it's the same cat in the first DTB of course without mao possessed because he is dead

to the speed-contractor's death

and or April's power?

sorry I got sidetracked. Perhaps you should try rewatching the episode again in HD. There is a possibility that his powers only limit him to a certain speed and that by surpassing a limit the particles will pierce his body. Or someshit like that im not quite sure myself. Just stick to the first solution and move on.

the speed-contractor's power is accelerating his movements. my guess is the holes in his body were the raindrops. simply put, he moved so fast that the raindrops were like bullets.

April's power as far as I can recall relates to humidity and probably a little "water bending".

leunam: he died because his speed made the raindrops hit him like bullets (simply put, it's as if he ran with the speed of flying bullet into some small object).

Ep 2 is out.. damn epic action scenes again..



does anyone know what the russian part at the ED says? at the start and the end of the ED, that is.

My russian is not really good, but it's the name of the series (Darker than Black: Twins of the Meteor) in russian.
And I'm not really sure, but from my point of view therE are some typos in the russian name...
