Have you ever cried from watching an anime?

I don't really like to admit to this sort of thing, but any sad moments in any anime. It's not so much crying my eyes out, but maybe a tear or two and a runny nose.

I've got a few

First time I cried was while I was watching Rurouni Kenshin when Kenshin says goodbye to Kaoru before he heads to Kyoto. Everything with that scene it's absolutely perfect and I cry every bloody time! I was in tears at the end of the first Kenshin OVA and I was crying the whole way through the second OVA, it was just too damn sad!!!! (Why couldn't the anime producers give Kenshin a happy ending like Watsuki-sensei gave him!! Of all the people in anime Kenshin deserved a happy ending!!!!)

The ending the Escaflowne tv series, it was such a beautiful series!!


Romeo X Juliet the ending was just....WAAAAAHHHH!!! You knew it was going to happen, but you just had this hope that maybe, just maybe it wouldn't be the tragedy that you know and then, it became even more tragic than the original play.


Gundam 00



Code Geass, the last episode, around 14 minutes I'm complete mess, every time I watch it, the moment I hear Madder Sky start, I'm balling, and my glasses fog up. When I first watched it, I had to pause it to wipe my glasses so many times it was insane.


Now I did get upset at the deaths of Hughs, why did they kill him, it wasn't fair, I liked him!!! The end of Chrono Crusade was just heart wrenching. The last two episodes of Trinity Blood!! I did get upset at the end of Weiss Kruez Gluhen Ending of Last Exile. Also get caught up in the moving scenes from Naruto, just too many to list.

One last one that I just watched wednesday

I almost cried to Welcome to NHK. I couldn't believe how emotional I got from it. Evangelion, Saber Marrionette J-X, Uninhabited Planet Survive, Cowboy Beebop were all tear jerkers as well

The ending of the Fuko arc in Clannad made me cry manly tears. I've never bawed so hard in my life to an anime.

I second that I have never cried to a chibi character but after seeing Fuko I cried waterfalls of tears FUKO!!!!!!!! T_T

Firstly, I'll start off by saying that Gainax has a knack for making emotionally charged anime in general. Maybe not in the sense that you will cry buckets, but that you will feel for the characters a lot. They are infamous for making animes with endings like that. Prime example at the end of Gurren Lagann, or even mid way through(you'll know when if you've seen it). At the end of Mahoromatic(season 2) is another good example. This may also be why I love their work so much. Gainax FTW!

Aside from them, Clannad the movie was an emotional experience as well as Elfen Lied. If I remember right, I think I did shed a tear or 2 at the end of each. Either that, or I'm going senile.

I only cried twice the first was during saikano & the other was during the clannad movie.

Grave of the Fireflies...very sad, I almost teared up on that one myself...but I almost whimpered when Goku Died...I know I'm a pansy

Off the top of my head I would have to say Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and Saikano made me cry.

I also almost cried for the whole hour while watching 5 Centimeters Per Second, due to the helplessness of the characters and would definitely recommend this short movie to anyone who enjoys the love/slice of life genre and the like.

I disagree with the perception that a man should not cry; a true man is not afraid to show his true feelings. That being said, I have no qualms of letting my friends know that I cry to anime (the ones that enjoy anime atleast :) )and infact ask them to recommend some tear-jerking animes for me.

I can't believe I had a few tears after the end of Code Geass. I did not think that I would shed any tears for it. Just shows how good a show it was.

I haven't watched as much anime as most of the people in this community, and the ones I have weren't that sad, but I came close to crying during the ending of FMA.
But fondly remember crying during 'The Muppets go to Manhattan' movie... I felt so insecure about it back than. o-o

The only anime I've ever cried from would have to be the first Pokemon movie. =( Though that was a long time ago.
It was just so sad how Ash was petrified and Pikachu, who was all worn out, desperately tried to electrify him back to life... ;_;
