Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Am I the only person who found the first season superior to the second one ? I simply found more gore, fear of the unknown and mystery much more appealing than the whole idea of friendship and trust saving the day...

Season 1 can't be considered conclusive until season 2 is shown.

True but what I enjoyed s1 for were the smaller, arc mysteries (aka who is the crazy psycho-killer this time), solving stuff on your own and the overwhelming, gruesome mood. I still remember the excitement of analyzing specific episodes and reading similar breakdowns on blogs. Thanks to this (and the fact that I wasn't spoiled) I knew or suspected much before s2 and had the satisfaction of learning it 'the hard way'.

I'm not saying that we didn't need a conclusion or that I expected something else from it but I found s1 and s2 quite different on few levels with the former suiting my preferences far better.

The first Rei OVA aired yesterday if I'm not mistaken.

All I have for now if the OP (nothing special IMO) and the knowledge that it's pure fanservice. Not surprising I guess since they practically used up all the existing material and concluded the series in Kai.



5 of them in total it seems with 2-4 composing the actual bonus arc. Next one airs in a month.
The only source I found for the episode was far to crappy to watch so I hope someone posts something better or a fansub group picks it up.

yea i believe first season is better than the 2nd season, prolly cuz the 1st season has more gore and blood and stuff leik u said.

Also waiting for this OVA, don't think I need to mention this but loved both seasons, must continue watching moar, or my waifu Rena will kill me, although she'd prob kill me if I watched it anyway, cuz of all the other girls in it nano desu.

i watched the first season and its awesome...especially the 4th episode...so bloody...i know about the second season but forgot to download it...after i get my pc back this Saturday...I'm gonna download it...thanks to all of you for remind me... 8)FAKKU FAMILY ROCKS... :D

I just now started watching this anime. For anyone interested in another anime to watch I guarantee you will be hooked after watching the 2nd episode. Hope it exceeds my expectations.

Loved the first season ^_^ the storys awesome, love the kiiling, love the cuteness set as a trap to make u think u got the cute anime by accident which the later goes KAR-STAAABB leaving u motionless for several hours xD
I consider this to be the only higurashi anime, kai and rei dont exist, the O_O WTF? moments that can make ppl shitless for 2 weeks were ruined by kais 133t freindshiph powah ;<

Well you can't blame the animes for existing since it had already existed in the games right? (or something of the sort.)

My favorite anime of all time. A few of the scenes still confuse me though.

Well i'm a big fan of Higurashi and the other day while i was watchin it again i remember a clue that was given in the Yakusamashi-hen (Disaster Awakening Chapter [where Satoko suspects of Rika gettin murdered and tries to save her...])

Well @ the end where she recieves Rana's message (her favorite hat covered in blood)and dies afterwards immediatly

It is the best anime i'd ever seen about mystery but there are still something left unanswered like the footsteps that heard even you stopped.Although they try to explain that the characters have the disease that make them thinks everybody are their enemy, it is still unacceptable for why they hear footsteps.I think this is one of the best part of this anime mekes it more mysterious so it should be explained more in season 2.
