IS: Infinite Stratos (OVA Released on 07 Dec 2011)

Assuming the anime is following the novels closely, the writer is totally making things up as he goes. We get a tourney, but then it is canceled right away, and we are probably getting another tourney soon enough. Also, sudden backstories.

So the team of Lin and Cecilia couldn't beat Laura, but Charles and Ichika could? (I also thought Houki would put up a bit more of a fight.) The amount of bandages L&C have after the fight was beyond too much. Additionally, when Ichika is injured in his arm, he doesn't need any.

If this translation is correct, then that teacher should be fired for making such a failure of a reverse trap.

Most enjoyable moment was Houki punching a gut-kicking Ichika. She got upstaged pretty badly these past two episodes. At least Laura is another tsundere addition to the harem.

Yay swimsuit episode!
Buying a swimsuit is serious business... Especially for the Germans.
Laura and her team are awesome.
Some of the girls have really interesting swimsuits too... Like the girl dressed as Pikachu and Laura mummifying herself...

Also, Rin can't swim. You can't do breaststroke with flutter kick. If you actually did that you would sink. Which is exactly why Rin almost drowned.

I want to kill Ichika. He's got 5 girls fawning over him, but he's got a sister complex... Though admittedly, his sister is extremely hot.

Too bad we didn't get to see much of Houki in a swimsuit until the end. I'm also quite interested in her sister. She seems to be really eccentric. Can't wait for her to show up next ep.

the typical beach episode...not saying that i didn't like it, all of ichka's girls looked really good in swimsuits. laughed alot at the rubbing the sun tan oil bit, that and rin taking things into her own hands. laura was just too damn cute this episode, what happened to the badass two episodes ago? and ichka has a sister complex as well? what is that about. and houki finally got her own IS and it looked pretty badass. next episode should be quite interesting.

Well, it was a nice beach episode. As by IS tradition, it was 'good, watchable, but not inspiring'.

Mmmm, Laura certainly likes the Blitzkrieg strategy, seeing how she already got into Ichika's bed... though seeing that errrr...enthusiastic officer on the other side of Laura's phone during swimsuit shop scene, this might be the source of all this. Plausible, especially since Laura is implicitly stated to had no personality whatsoever prior.

Charlotte is so HHHNNNNNNNGGGGGG, again, even without being Char in a skirt. Not only her swimsuit was gorgeous, we also had her shove Ichika into a changing room and undressing...pity Ichika turned around. Pity indeed.


Beach scene was pretty sound and fun to watch. Chifuyu in her own swimsuit and with her hair down takes the "eye candy" to the whole new level. I also liked the volleyball play. It was a really nice thing to relax to, for some reason.

Sadly, there was no casino robbing. Dammn.

But we do have a nice next-episode hook, in form of Tabane, Houki's older sister coming to visit...with a present. Also am I the only one who is getting Dark Side vibe from Houki? Considering how she's being sidelined as of late, that wouldn't be too surprising.
