Life of the average anime to short?

I starated noticing this when kanokon ended after 12 eps!!! i mean come on!! it could've gone on for another 12 eps!Am i alone on this sad fact of life?

You are not alone my friend I to belive that lately anime has been ending too sone, it's tragic when you see a good series end but it's all the more tragic when its gone before its time. The people who write and draw this stuff need to realize that the people want more.

This only bothered me when I recently started watching anime. I was under the impression that the average (anime) serie would have at least 25-50 episodes, well yeah.
Has to do with manga/VN/ material , budget and all that stuff.

The thing that does tick me off is how every ongoing series isn't consistent or just sucks overall. As example, Bleach would be a great series... if there wasn't a filler arc of 20+ episodes after a few manga ones. Also, taking 7 minutes to finally start the damn episode is not cool.
That, and I don't give two fucks about One Piece and Naruto(!)

So at the moment I'm awaiting that faithful day when there will be a good ongoing series for a change.

yes anime should have a minimum of 24 episodes,

24+ is good, not 13 episodes like kannagi(which i liked)

Yeah, certain anime should get 24/26, which is generally the average, but occasionally they try to squeeze a show into 13, which usually ends badly.

Although some anime just fit in 13. really depends on the story your trying to tell.

Wow, that came straight out of my mind. I was also very disappointed by the soon ending. Also my very first anime if I recall correctly.

I loved FLCL and it was only 6 episodes, on the other end i think some are way to long *cough* onepiece *cough* but other then that i think as long as they wrap everything up nicely i dont have a problem with it ending shorter then i wanted it to.

Same with me, animes that usually run past 26+ are Shounen Jump series like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, but they usually have massive filler arcs. Bleach is like the only one out of the three I can watch and talk about.

As for other good series that came to an end quickly, I personally think Golden Boy should have gone on for at least 13 episodes cause I wanted to see Kentaro encounter the lesbians from the manga and hear more of the funny, witty, and hysterical awesomeness that is Doug Smith.

If those fillers didn't exist, it wouldn't be an ongoing series. The anime would have to take a break every now and then to allow the manga get further ahead. Maybe that would be better though.

I've seen a lot more short anime series the past couple of years, but I'm okay with it. The thing that really irks me is when a series is short but then gets another season. Or two. Or three.

Like Sayonara Zetsubo-sensei and Minami-ke. Why make the seasons short if you're just going to make another season a few months later? I don't think even a full year went by between the seasons of those series. It's annoying having to wait over a year to see 26 episodes of a series when it takes half a year to watch a full, 26-episode series.

yeah but One piece has alot going for the series and many would be pissed if they just ended it now.

It shoulda followed the manga all the way. Coolio first anime. What a great intro to anime!
50-60 episodes is a perfect anime length. Though 25-26 is a good length too. Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece are all too damn long.

some anime are just plain crap, so for them a short series is no big deal

interestingly enough, that was my first anime as well. i sort of had the opposite reaction though. i read the manga after watching it, and found that i didnt like the ending in the manga. it seemed too long to me. although i would've liked more episodes, i was satisfied by the length. to me the best animes are always about 13-24 episodes... not saying that they shouldnt be longer, but they just tend to be short

Then end to both of them made me RAGE, 'specially the manga.

Kampfer and Sacred Blacksmith all had WTF endings, I mean Sacred Blacksmith didnt even get to the main plot line yet and Kampfer is just..... just getting good.
