Life of the average anime to short?

I like short anime, but I don't mind longer ones either. My range is like 12-50. Any more or less I usually don't like so much.

I dont mind if the anime is long, if they just make sure to keep fillers out, and focus on the story. I liked D. Gray Man, Eyeshield 21 and Prince of Tennis. Though they all had a filler or 4, it wasnt anything big.
But when i look for new anime, i look for series with no more than about 50 episodes. Because they tend to focus a bit more on the story, and dont mess around with "not related" stuff.
But there are series that are way too short, like Air Gear or Wolf And Spice. But i guess that if a anime isnt popular enough, they simply have to stop making them, or else they wont make money on them =/

Like I said in the Long or Short Anime/Manga thread I like when anime are shorter as opposed to to long. I usually feel when a series ends it should end there before it collapses and starts to use long manga complexes, like ultimate attacks becoming regular.
Surprisingly I didn't think that I thought it had the perfect length where it didn't just keep throwing up random obstacles or extending them to long, to me it was a perfectly timed ending for itself.
This is the one and only example where I thought there needed to be more FLCL should have at least gone to 12 episodes; but then again there might be something in its shortness that made it great less time for stupid story mistakes I suppose.
