Most emotionally gripping Animes you've watched?

You know, the kind that just forces you to smile, or makes you burst into tears, or just shout "F*** YEAH!" At your TV/Computer do to excitement.

For me, I think the most emotional Anime I've ever watched was Clannad, there were so many parts in that Anime that just warmed my heart, and other times that I couldn't stop myself from crying.

Gurren Laugenn is also one that had me gripped to it. Every time I watched one of it;s episodes I would just feel motivated to get up and do something. (Which made watching the show take forever XD)And the end just...it made me so angry, I started yelling at the TV "No! How can any of you pretend this is okay!?"

I have a few others, but I'll just leave it at those two, so what Animes have gripped your emotions?

Also Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai.


Steins;Gate had me gripped a lot, I was just entranced by it and couldn't stop watching. I didn't start watching it until 23 out of 24 episodes were out, I just sort of dismissed it. Then I decided to give it a go because I was seeing it all over different anime related sites, and didn't really get it after the first few episodes, but as the story developed it blew me away and has made it as one of my favourite series of all time.

Super Robot Wars Original Generations: Inspector, I cried because the scenes were too awesome, I also cried on some of the touching scenes.

Sorry, I said clannad but you've already seen that soooo, maybe sora no otoshimono, toradora dora and hayate no gotaku. They're all funny ones ;)

Chrono Crusade's anime. I recall crying like a spilled bucket and using the cushion to wipe my tears when watching the final episode.

The VN, haven't watched the anime yet. Still haven't finished the VN either.

Kodomo no Jikan: crying

Detective Conan, Ika Musume, Index and Kizumonogatari have all been pretty emotional at times but nothing like Clannad and Kodomo no Jikan

I completely agree. It was completely rife with awesome moments.

Aside from that, I'm not exactly sure. Naruto has its moments, but overall I wouldn't chalk it up as one of the best.

I think I have to say the animes that made me burst into tears was AIR and Clannad.
Elfen Lied was also an emotional roller coaster for me.

Steins;Gate was one the most agonizing anime for me to watch.

School Rumble, I marathoned the whole series in two days. Fucking gripped, haha.

Koihime Musou, well actually only the eroge.

I agree with Clannad, Air, and many of the others that were posted but another one that i thought was good was Code Geass. After the 1st episodes i watched all episodes that were out at that time. H20 Footprints In The Sand is also another good one.

For me their was an anime called Kamisama Kazoku. It was an anime that made me wonder why certain things in real life can't work out the way we want them to. This anime actually made me not watch anime for months because I was afraid anime would give me a false sense in life.

Wolfs Rain got my heart and is my favorite anime forever...clannad or anohana Im guessing is pretty dramatic so I'm keeping two spots open for those since I've heard so much about them. Oh and AIR is very emotional. I never got around to finishing but Im sure I will and when I do I'll love it. Oh and madoka. Derp Fuck I cant even begin to describe cyborg 009. That one is terribly dramatic and sad. And I think there was another robot/cyborg anime I saw but I cant remember ^^;;

i have 3 that have got a decent grip @ me when i was watching them the first time, and they will surely stay in my memory for a long time.
