Most emotionally gripping Animes you've watched?

I would have to say Angel Beats.
That is the only anime I have gotten worked up over.

Yet to watch Clannad...

oh god...I love the ending XD was so much better then the first series OG. I'm not the biggest fan for CG in anime.

the only anime that made me cry was the last episode of Shuffle lol it was so heartwarming :3

I really like the Variable Formation done in CG though. Still the last episode of Divine Wars was completely unneeded. Except for the Bunny Suit, that was the only good part of the episode.

You speak truth. I don't cry unless I'm faking it (I didn't cry when my Grandfather who was more of a Father to me than my real one (but that's not too hard, you know what I mean though, he was like a Dad to me), but I did when I acted on cue without issue, strange) Clannad was just too sad though, I loved it, but seriously it was goddamned sad.

Cowboy Bebop, the moment Spike fell after saying "Bang..", I pretty much flailed my arms screaming,
"NO! SPIKE, WHO WILL PLAY SHOGI WITH JET?!? FAYE JUST FINALLY FELT AT HOME! WHY, DAMN IT."

Then there was School Days. Why Makoto, why did you have to get so arrogant and greedy.... Didn't have to go down like that...

You can kind of see the general trend =P I'm a bit of a sap for good and sad storys.

Elfen Lied and Clannad are two of the most touching animes. I actually cried during several parts in Clannad and teared up in Elfen Lied.

Clannad along with Clannad After Story, and Ano Hana.
Definitely.
Strikingly beautiful and filled with incredible emotion that will push you over the dge.

......... Well can i said... Pokemon especially during the episode where Ash is going to leave Pikachu with all other pikachu.

Gurren Lagann for the FIREY MANLINESS and the fact that the universe runs on GAR.

Bakemonogatari was also gripping, but in a different way.

Clannad, Kanon, Anohana: of these I really enjoyed Kanon the most, though all were quite gripping and had wonderful OSTS.

I really liked Amagami for the all around fuzzy feelings, people finding love is a wonderful thing.
