Most touching anime/manga

Touching.....the most touching manga i've read recently was Hourou Musuko.

It's about sexuality problems that haunts grade school kids growing up. Artwork and composition-wise it's ugh, but the story is pure win.

Oh another anime and manga that made me almost cry and pissed off was gantz. As soon as I get to love the character the author decides to kill that person on the spot, leaving me no time to get to know them better.

I haven't seen many dramatic "type" anime but the one that made me cry was ef - A tale of memories... especially the last couple of episodes ( currently working on finishing ef - a tale of melodies). I need to watch Clannad :(

For an anime I guess Pale Cocoon, if it counts, or Mizu no Kotoba. Pretty much anything by Yasuhiro Yoshiura is an instant favorite for me. As for manga... it would have to be NANA. It's realistic but only to a certain extent. It kind of mingles between reality and fiction.

Wow I'm surprised this many people read Bitter Virgin. Makes you feel really choked up for all characters involved, and even yourself, because you know somewhere out there there are people who go through this.

As for the anime counter-part Ill go with Air the movie. The anime was depressing enough, but when Yukito was there to witness the end in the movie, I felt my heart start acting up cause of all the sadness.

And god can I go through a thread without hearing about Clannad? I feel like a douche cause I havn't read/seen it yet. On that note, anyone reccomend what I should do first, visual novel or anime?

I'd say 5cm for Second, Beyond the Clouds, and Hoshi no Koe by Makoto Shinkai.
Also, Bitter Virgin is a great manga that you should read.
I think Elfen Lied had a relatively touching(?) ending in both anime and manga form.
If you want a "feel good" moment at the end of your animation, watch "Sword of the Stranger". It's epic and has a warm ending.

Definitely Clannad After Story for me. Oh god, I thought my tears would never stop at some parts.

For the anime. Clannad and Clannad ~After Story~, of course :D


For an anime that makes you shed manly tears and if you consider something "astronomically epic" as something very touching, then watch TTGL (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann)

Now for the manga, there's my number one, Bitter Virgin. It's very realistic and the ending won't get you pissed off too.

There's also Suzuka, second to my emotional mangas list.

That's what makes Gantz so good. Gantz is unrelenting, and does whattever he wants to toy with people's lives. I love that anime so much.

I felt that way, but as soon as I began reading the manga, I was so pissed off because of the last 2 episodes. Stupid fillers and the ending was bull.

Not to be mean but I would love to take the gantz discussion to here or here, so we don't get this discussion side track lol. have you read the manga? if not you need to start :lol:

Wow,never thought this would get to 3 pages. I've heard clannad was really sad so I think I might watch it soon unfortuantley I started watching 17 anime from spring season so I've been busy. I've seen 5 cm per second and it was really sad especially the first part. So keeping posting and show the world that fakku is an emotional site as well.

The ending to Dragonball GT got me pretty hard, shed a tear or two as well.

Um... Fullmetal Alchemist? I mean, the lengths these two brothers go to for each other is magnificent. No tears here though.

the most emotional touching for me would have to be Air the animation, that poor little girl really made the tears flow at the end.

Another one would have to be Air Gear the animation altho it was only a single moment in it, really felt the scene where Kazuma Mikura wins his first match on the fence.

I have a feeling that anyone not answering Clannad has probably never seen it...

Or they could be (*gasp*) answering with things better than Clannad, or they just feel like Clannad is such an obvious answer (and it's so popular to boot) that they might as well say anime/manga that people are less likely to have seen/read.

Things better than Clannad!?! Blasphemy! JK...

Yeah I thought that too, but then are you implying that because Clannad is such an obvious answer that Clannad is then... in a league of its own...?
