Soba-Scans: HUGE Velvet Kiss News!

Hey everyone!

I have gigantic news to share with all of you about Velvet Kiss. As you know, Velvet Kiss has gotten licensed by Project-H which is awesome for any mangaka to go worldwide! However, there were many concerns on how well the manga will be handled. Whether it'd be translated well, if it'd have great aesthetics etc. Rest assured! We can guarantee it has lots of love put into it due to the fact we in Soba-Scans had involvement with the script and typesetting!

By the time we had heard about this great news we contacted Project-H hoping they would hear us out. They were just as enthusiastic about the idea, but by the time we got involved they already hired a translator and had a script ready. However, LD was able to go over the script and was able to make changes in order to make sure it read well and kept it's original feeling - and it turned out even better then you've seen from us. Then as far as the typesetting went, I was the person who handled that end of the job!

So with this we can promise you, it's new and improved, and Project-H along with us have put lots and lots and lots of TLC into this for you all. We're excited to see this great relationship work out, and we're looking forward to see the success for Harumi-sensei!

We're also happy to announce that Fakku has the English volume to preorder for only $10! On top of the manga being for sale, we can also tell you that the volume is going to be physically larger than your typical manga, so you can enjoy Harumi-sensei's beautiful work in an even larger format!



We've been so excited to announce this for everyone, and we hope you'll be just as excited and support not only Harumi Chihiro's captivating artwork and story telling, but also FAKKU where many of us can call this our second home.

Part of the argument for the existence of scanlation is that it lets readers enjoy works that would ordinarily never be released in their language and helps promote the artists abroad. So now that Velvet Kiss is available in English, this is everyone's chance to show your your appreciation for her and make the worldwide recognition that she's received official!

Aye, kinda disappointed Velvet Kiss was removed. Not that I can't read it anywhere else (other H-sites+mangafox), but kinda feels wrong for it not to be on Fakku!

You would think that- if being released outside Japan- the copies would no longer be subject to them.
