I can't believe that I made this thread over a year ago, but Dissappearance was well worth the long wait. Shortly before the movie was released, I finished the novel version so that I would be able to compare and such. I must say, the movie was definitely superior to the novel in several key points.
Kyon's reactions to his world being messed up were far more powerful than in the book, and his monologue was incredible in the movie. It was a bit confusing to read in the novel, so I was glad that it was done in a clear manner.
Plus, the animation and music was all top notch. It's definitely one of my favorite anime movies, ever.
