What was your first anime?

I'm not entirely sure what it's called and can't remember it that well... but i know it had robot lions in it, and a castle that turned into a huge fortress? lol

My first anime?
That would probably be Speed Racer, the crapified, dumbed-down Amercianized version. Of course, at the time, there were only about five animes showing in the USA.
Turned me off to anime for a long time. The first anime that I actually enjoyed was Star Blazers (a.k.a. Space Cruiser Yamoto.)

The first anime I had ever seen was more than likely Bleach really, but then the first anime series that I watched from beginning to end, was He is my Master

Ok its all coming back to me the first anime that i saw was Robotech, after that on SciFi they started their saturday anime block and that was when i saw Akira, Iria: Zeiram the Animation, Project A-Ko, Record of Lodoss War, and Vampire Hunter D.

As for a anime series it has to be when Cartoon Network had their Toonami block (remember that kiddies) it was then i was introduce to the Gundam franchise with Gundam Wing, G-Gundam, the 8th MS Team, and the original Gundam series and of course DragonBall, DBZ, and DBGT. Then comes Adult Swim and here comes some great stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, Bleach, and I could go on but i better stop here.

I recall getting up early and flipping through the channels at 6-7am, as I waited for my sister to get ready to go to school together.


I happen to see these sailor scouts and saw them fight, and I thought that was the coolest thing. Keep in mind I was like 16,lol. Over 10 years ago.
I later come to find out that it was Sailor Moon season1. I took a break form anime and didnt see any more anime till, 3-4yrs later, I came across X-TV By clamp.

Id say Sailor Moon was my 1st anime too.

Well as a child I watched the first series of Pokemon.
But the first "real" (i know pokemon is real too, hope yu know what i mean) anime i watched is Fruits Basket then Strawberry Panic

Well, Pokemon (original), Sailor Moon, and Speed Racer. I had to get up at 6:00AM on Saturdays to watch Sailor Moon, but it was my favorite. ^_^ I even have all the sailor scout figurines.

Doraemon.., even now I still watch the Movie.

My first anime was more than likely DBZ, the original Dragon Ball, or Sailor Moon. Pokemon and Digimon were another of the few I first saw.

whichever animes were the first on toonami, like Sailor Moon, DBZ, and Cardcaptor Sakura but Outlaw Star and Tenchi Muyo were the first I acknowledged as anime. I think it can be said Toonami was the birthplace of many otakus

ah, Toonami... it was every day after school, then preggo-looking Tom died, then, with Tom2 and Sara only on saturday nights.... after 11 years, Toonami ended. I almost cried. TT_TT Toonami WAS my childhood. XD

I honestly for the life of me cannot remember which was my first. It was either Sailor Moon or Outlaw Star, but I just cannot remember which one I saw first.

i can't really recall accuratly: Voltron, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Monn, Ronin Warriors, Thunder Cats, Samurai Pizza Cats, but remembering back i think i remember watching ronin warriors as a kind with my brother and not understanding fully what was going on

maybe thats the one i remember consciencely and subconsciencely it might have been Dragon Ball Z or Voltron or something but Ronin Warriors is the only one i can recall so im going with that one!
(although i don't fully remember the others until Toonami came on Cartoon Network but i may have seen them earlier, you know? =P)

Edit: lol i remember watching Gall force in the last couple of years, it was terrible XD it was liek watching poorly acted hentai w/o boobs or sex. i was rolfing through the whole showing XD
