If you consider Voltron anime than it was that. Past that I think it was DBZ followed shortly by Gundam Wing.

Dragon Ball
If your Mexican and watched TV this was your fist anime. There maybe a slight chance it may have been Sailor Moon or Ranma 1/2. For me it was DB followed by Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2. Then it was an anime about football (soccer) and Slam Dunk.
Spanish speaking Goku and other characters sound kick ass (similar to the original Japanese dub). I heard it once in English and I just turned it off. It was that bad.

The first anime i ever saw with my virgin eyes would probably have to Sailor Moon. Honestly it was amazingly well..girly but i enjoyed the mini-skirts. Lol, other than that i'd have to say Dragon Ball came after that. Perhaps Detective Konan. Hmm.

When I was a kid, here in Argentina we could see Robotech and Mazinger Z, along with another magical girl shoujo I cannot remember (Sandybell? Girl comes from another dimension, has a transforming pen and dies in the last episode, in which both universes merge)

I jest, Voltron is actually awesome as well =p It's like Robotech, the adaptation came out just as good as the original!
My veeeeeeery first anime I probably saw before I have memories, because my dad watches it all the time =p But the first anime that I ever properly saw the the first two episodes of the original Dominion: Tank Police OVA. It came free with an issue of Play magazine, along with an (also free!) copy of Loaded. Seriously, WHAT A DEAL.
Dominion wasn't what hooked me on anime though. That took a combination of Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Pokemon.
EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, it was probably Pokemon xD One always forgets.

My first were these Dragonball Z bootleg VHS tapes I used to buy from a local flea market. They had 3 episodes with awful quality and they didn't bother to edit out the commercials. I remember this one commercial in particular for what I think was cocoa crispies. It had some dubious looking monkey leading a bunch of kids through a sunflower field singing some strange song. Seemed like a cult. After that was Sailor Moon on toonami with it's awful dub and brutal localization.
