Which Gundam series do you think is the best?

Gundam SeeD.

It gets way more hate than it deserves, although some of it's justified i will admit.
And no one in their right mind can say that SeeD's soundtrack isn't totally awesome.

I'd like to point out that i haven't seen 'em all yet, but SeeD wins out of the ones i've seen so far.

Yeah i know but well i am those kind of old type people who follows the so called tradition lol and when i see something that change too drastic i just can not feel that it is the same as the one before.

Yeah people tends to overblow the problem of one anime. I can still said it clearly that Seed is a good series even though it is not a diamond however it does not deserve everyone saying that it sucks balls. However for Seed Destiny i can not help but not saying it sucks hiks. Even the MS name must be copy from the other old series. Zaku Warrior??? No wonder Tomino does not admit Seed as Gundam.

But yeah the song of Seed is really good whether it is the OP or the ED.

I still prefer Super Robot Wars because it is condensed awesomeness with JAM Project doing its opening.

Lol Jam project also sing Ai no Senshi for Gundam u know. Even if it is not for the anime.

GSD was fuckin horrible.


I was thinking more along the lines of the background tunes, but i guess some of the OP/ED's were good too. I remember the first opening and ending they used were really good.

As i see Gundam 00 is leading atm i just have to ask, was i the only one that thought that the series went pretty much downhill after season 1 ended?
The second half of the first season was awesome with the Trinity gundams and those epic looking grey mobile suits, and then when season 2 started everything went just meh.

Well Yeah for season 2 of Gundam 00 is kinda going downhill but for me it still quite okay even with those bring stability Mass cloned only to die in a few second by Kamikaze attack but only causing a little damage toward Ptolomeious and Allelujah kinda lost his charm from Season one. But after all those i still think that it is still viewable especially the battle scene rocks but i think my main reason will always be one. Because i seen worse in GSD so i just let it go lol.

Zeta Gundam hands down. Nothing comes close.

I do agree that it did lose quality after its first season but there are a couple of things to point out about that: 1 is that they pretty much put their best stuff first in that the series starts off with these all powerful(or so believed) gundams that go unmatched for a good bit of the season, then counter measures are developed for the gundams and that causes the situation to intensify, then we have the appearance of these other gundams which brings up many questions and makes it far more interesting and finally climaxes when the power source ends becoming mass produced and Celestial being is trapped in life or death(much closer to death) situation.

Considering that a second season would have a lot of trouble outdoing that it kind of made sense that the second season was "meh" compared to the first(that and it became a bit more predictable). My second reason is far more simple, take a look at Gundam Seed and Seed Destiny (in second mind you)and you'll notice that Sunrise studio is not good at doing follow up "seasons" for Gundam ("series" is something different: from the first to victory of the "Universal Century" timeline)

Well it is almost something that happen with any other movies, anime, live action and many other things. The reason why we fans ussualy said the second or the third is not as good as the one especially if the first season is a good ones, fans will begins to have a very expectation about the upcoming season and when the result is not what they expected. There comes all the whinings and hates about how fail the series without even remembering the past success of the series.

It seems like JAM Project sings ANYTHING that has to do with robots 8)

What? I love season two a lot more than season one. Everything got cranked up to eleven.

Then again, I just cared about the fights. It was great to see the Gundams fighting against enemies that weren't handicapped from the very beginning due to a lack of technology.

No 08th MS Team, so I this vote is not valid. Judging from how it's more "realistic" than any gundam now where it can just flies away anytime, gundams in 08th MS Team is more like a walking tank. It's not so superior from any other tank and can't be said a superweapon like the later Another Century series. It's pretty interesting to watch when what you care is not all that imba fighting with laser and beams anywhere.

SEED was also good, but not with GSD where 40% of the show is just a flashback from SEED. The story is great, when Freedom and Justice appeared it wasn't become a one-sided fight with Forbidden, Calamity and Raider while at GSD when Strike Freedom appeared all the enemy just went bam with one beam strike.

While that indeed is a potential fact, the majority of times it actually can vary because sometimes the makers just drop the ball and lose touch with what made them gold (that and sometimes there are indeed people that are just bitchy, which I tend to totally ignore). Mind you that while I do compare a series from its separate seasons that is only to see if the quality is maintained as it should be. for example: while the second season of 00 is not as good as its first (story/plot wise) I still say it was above decent in that area and still maintained its action at the same necessary level
