[Locked] FAKKU State of the Union 2016

Into the trash you go Fakku.

I think the website should change back to how it used to be. The website had hentai that did cost, but yet people was happy of having the free ones. For days I stopped using Fakku and tried other sites, but none are as good as this website once been. If the owner of this website made it the way it is to help the artist happy then think about how much you hurt other artists' works by removing them and refuse to let them show.

For others that feel the same as I am then maybe we should show how much we care. I know it will be almost impossible to have the website maker change his mind, but we'll show the amount of dislike of change that has happened. show how much we care for us the readers and the artist that might feel crushed.

After a week of my mind being constantly distracted by this whole "Fakku has fallen" fiasco, I've come to a conclusion; I don't really like this new route that Fakku is taking.

In the past, Fakku was my go-to site to find doujins, and now I am unable to do that. As a long time user of Fakku, and even one who recommended this site to others, I spent 2016 in absolute shock. All the tags were empty, with only paid content left. I understand that in the future there will be free content, but until then Fakku is just stuck behind the paywall that Fakku users of 2015 were afraid would take over. It feels like maybe a bit more pre-planning could have made this impact less...dramatic.

To make a comparison, this Fakku change has a lot in common with Valve and Skyrim mods. There was a point where they tried to charge the community for mods, and the mod community made such an uproar that the decision was reverted. Now don't get me wrong, I fully support doujinshi artists, but I don't feel like removing all the free content on a dime was the best idea.

On a different note, doing this feels like a slap in the face for those who enjoyed Fakku for what it was, a site to casually browse doujins. Now after changing the site without so much as a vote, it feels like the community we all once loved has turned into a business model. It's like the state of Louisiana completely demolishing New Orleans, leaving only expensive restaurants, and handing out fliers to the now dazed and confused Mardi Gras that say "Time to industrialize."

I don't want to sound rude, but as of this exact moment, all Fakku is is a paywall site, a husk of what was a greater site where the user and the site had such great relationships that even a dedicated RPG flash game was made for it, but now I probably need a subscription for that once free feature, too.

I half expected some big event to kick off on Fakku when 2016 arrived, but I would have never expected something like this. At least, not from you guys.

So, thanks Fakku. It's been a great few years, and I was hoping for a few more, but until this whole situation gets sorted out, I will always be hoping somewhere in the back of my mind that this was all just some bad dream.

I definitely understand every point youve made in your post, except for one of the last things you said. When you said its been a great 10 years to those that cannot pay a monthly subscription, youre basically sugarcoating the fact that youve made the executive decision of saying goodbye to a lot of people whom have been members for a while. Why not implement some sort of system where long time users get some sort of pass or at the very least discount towards membership? Even offering a free trial to existing members to see if they like the new direction Fakku is heading in would be better than simply saying goodbye. I for one have had an account here for 7 years now, but have been with you since the beginning. And trust me, I'm not trying to be cheap here; in all honesty ill probably buy a subscription soon if you havent already assumed so based on my long term account. Im speaking for those that just wont bother and are saying goodbye as well. I know for a fact that the website will still be running regardless.... I'd just like to see you getting the viewers and credit you deserve. And as a business owner myself, it was a crucial turning point for me to realize that customer retention is just as important, if not more so, than new promotions.

And please dont be misled by my lack of posts. I havent been simply here to read the content... Ive been actively following forums as well so ive been expecting the change. Just didnt know what exactly to expect to hear from you in response to the massive panic from those who dont bother to read forums or headlines. Anyways, goodluck to the developers; as youve already stated, its been a good run for those that can no longer support fakku.

I don't mind I had been here long enough to remember only a few pages of content in sections and had read most of it only makes me sad that I cant reread my favorites. I sub now. Would have been cool if you could have found a way to pay for some of the old stuff. Your idea of 3 month 6 and 12 month prepaid blocks could work with paypal as long as it is not a recurring subscription. Or do they refuse because of paying for time to view adult content?

Im sorry but i cant imagine the site not going under considering almost all of the content is gone and everything needs to be paid for. Ten pages total? Seriously?
