Quick question, was Fakku created with a business plan in mind?

@GQ This.
Also I don't see what your point is. The past is in the past. Let's say you become an artist and you swear you'll never sell your work. Then 10 years pass and you're one of the greatest talents around. You're offered large sums of money for your work. Are you saying it's not okay to change your mind because you made a decision 10 years ago when circumstances were much different?
I'm getting the feeling that you're trying to say that the community comes first here. But that just isn't completely true. FAKKU was one dude's college side project. It took a lot of commitment and time to make it grow as much as it did. Yes, the community is responsible for building that growth. It wouldn't be around anymore if nobody visited. But on the other hand how many users actually gave anything back? Especially those who appreciated the service over other websites. How many of those people made sure to buy merchandise and consider clicking on those advertisements? A lot of people have come crawling out of their caves to complain or throw tantrums. But most of them have done nothing to give back. FAKKU provided a useful service that people didn't have to do anything to access. For 10 years people have been using this site freely. FAKKU owes them nothing, I think.
Furthermore it's wrong to say that FAKKU has turned on their users. Paying for products isn't an evil thing. I refuse to believe otherwise. You pay for all the other things you use in your life but people make up all kinds of excuses for things like digital media and porn. It's ridiculous. And no, I've had enough discussions on why digital media has value and I don't want to get into that right now.
