Atheist and Infidels Club

I've noticed an overabundance of clubs catering toward dozens of specific interests or qualifications, but I haven't seen a club for the Godless, such as myself. I'm opening the club as a place for fellow unbelievers to discuss their existences among themselves, the faithful and those uncertain. I'll kick things off with a quote from the great Christopher Hitchens.

I'm sorry, what? This is actually a time when into pull out the archaic idea of separate magisteria because although breakthroughs on the quantum front may enlighten some philosophy, see Stephen Hawking, they're mostly inexclusive.

Physicist's common response to quantum. If you have time to ask what the fuck it all means, use that time to calculate and predict new cool stuff.

Hey I was one of those who became an atheist because I was very religious. Quantum mechanics suffered the same fate. At first I kept asking what it all meant until well... it meant what it meant.

While I'd like a world with no deities, I am not anti-theistic. I'm an atheist but accept other's beliefs to some extent.

I'm on around the same level as Zero here. I let others believe what they want to believe. . . mainly for the sake of making them look stupid in a later discussion.

Because I've read the Bible and the Torah, and I'm working on the Qur'an, I know how dangerous these beliefs are, Islam especially. I don't intend to hide behind political correctness and in such a fashion I endeavor to dismantle them. Those books are fantastic literature, but Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle" is a prance through a field of flowers by comparison. The infractions on human rights sanctified by holy writ, anti-homosexual efforts, intercomminal violence, holy war, bigotry, religion is poison in the veins of the Earth and like all poisons it must be removed or otherwise rendered inert.

Iran is on the verge of attaining nuclear weapons and exists under sharia law, which condones Jihad.
Israel is a nuclear power and exists under Zionist theocracy, an unstable mix at best.
Saudi Arabia controls huge quantities oil and natural gas, also it is under Sharia law.
Pakistan and India are both armed with nuclear weapons and exist under a constant religiously spurred conflict
Until relatively recently the Vatican charged the jews with deicide
The list goes on and on, faith is the largest threat we have yet to face as a species.

on a side note, I'm not really atheistic, more on the agnostic side, but I do have a tendency to make fun of religions out there =D

I say I've been an atheist for a couple of years and before that was agnostic. The reason for this was that I didn't even know that complete non-belief was an option. The notion of a god looking over me had been drilled into me since childhood so even though I questioned his existence, I never actually though that being a complete non-believer was an option.
