Er...girly topic of the day is: hair removal!

I just spent a couple of rather painful hours yesterday waxing for my trip to the beach later today. AAAAARRRRRRRRRGH WHY DO WE SUBJECT OURSELVES TO THIS SHIT?!?!? I want to go all Feminist Hulk Smash and say fuck it to all forms of hair removal, but I'm still too affected by the patriarchal standards. Plus, I live in SoCal, land of Hollywood, where everyone is rich, young, and beautiful...and you really can feel the censure sometimes. Not everyone is blonde, skinny, tan, and beautiful, but there's a whole lot of pressure to conform to mass media's version of what is beautiful.

Ah well. So anyway, hair removal methods--which ones do you use? Which ones do you love, like, dislike, or hate?

hair...oh gowd....I hate my hairy body, I tried everything in hair removal,nothing is really satisfying next winter I'm going for the laser srsly -.-' and living in the land of light skin blond people whit very little to no body hair at all while being dark hair and hairy is not helping at all *sobs*

I'm not too hairy on the arms and legs (yay Asian genes?) but underarms and bikini area is where I usually wax. Which is painful. OUCH. I mean, it's not *that* bad, but I hadn't done it in a while so I wasn't used to it. I'm less annoyed at the pain and more annoyed at the time and expense.

It's a good thing teh bf cares not a whit about body hair.

Gaaaaah, body hair. >.o I have Italian/Spanish genes in me, so as you can imagine, I'm not the most hairless lady around. I've tried hair removal cream before, but it didn't do much but burn. So for now, I'm just sticking to razors!

The creams worked well on my legs, but I really dislike the smell--it smells like cheap perms. Plus you're not supposed to use them on "sensitive areas" anyway, and that's where I usually do hair removal.

I end up waxing the bikini/underarms areas (with shaves in between waxes), and tweezing my brows. Any favourite brands you gals use? I use Sally Hansen's Naturally Bare honey wax, and for razors, I use a nifty Schick Quattro one with a built in mini-trimmer.

I tried waxing once but I don't really like it. I usually just shave the appropriate areas with my good old razor.

I used to wax, but I can't stand the "growing-back stage" after any hair removal. Plus waxing hurts, in an almost shocking way.

I also tried an epillator, but that is a form of torture reserved for certain sections of hell.

Underams and legs just get shaved. For personal spots, if I need to, I'll just shave, but if I can get away with just trimming, then I go that route.
