Also yikes. I'm playing the english version of Conquest and it is as bad as you said. The English VA are lacking and there are memes...But the gameplay is still the same barring the petting mini-game.

I'm not trying to be a shill but again, the game is good. I don't agree with echoeagle 100% but I still liked it despite the Treehouse bullshit.

I find the voices roughly 60/40 thus far. Most are decent- but the bad ones are just plain bad.
Or rather- they're not bad in and of themselves- but rather suffer from poor direction; Camilla and Nyx for instance- they simply shot towards the wrong age brackets. Made Camilla sound 10 years too old and Nyx 10 years too young.
Also Effie. Her VA is fine (she also voices Oboro) and does a good job- it's the idiot in the director's chair who decided it was a good idea to say "Hey, this character's strong- make her sound like a tranny".
I'm also hugely disappointed that they untrapped Foleo. I normally ignore the whole SJW bent- but their influence there is blatant.

ok first off any feature being removed is already one too many. The idea that anyone will justify this shit is already infuriating.
secondly, other things that treehouse did to fuck with this game was:
1. Change the personality for characters.
2. Change dialogue to meme shit and other cringe things.
3. removed full conversations.
4. removed dual language feature, to decide if you want Jap of Eng audio.
5. removed multiple scenarios (I've seen this floating around but haven't confirmed).
6. Had shit voice acting. (Apparently they didn't even bother to tell the VAs what they were voicing).
The fact that they did shit voice acting and then to top it off, they completely remove the Jap audio. Just, the fuck.
And then on top of that they removed a harmless mechanic for no reason other than for their bullshit sense of morality.
The game is targeted at teenagers. What? kids never given other peoples hugs before? That's the level of affection that a headpat is. Then we get fucking retards calling it shameful or that it doesn't fit western values.
SAYS WHO? I've always fucking pat the head of my cousins. My folks get mad because of some apparent bullshit Flip superstition. Doesn't mean I'm going to fucking stop. It's a sign of affection, like a fucking hug. So it's ok to censor something because some bigot thinks it sexual? Fuck off.
The localization team are purposely pandering to nutjobs that want to censor games.
The gameplay itself has been mostly left untouched. That might be its only saving grace. It's probably the only thing most players will focus on.
Still, it doesn't change how bullshit this whole thing is.
I might stop buying any new games completely if companies continue with these fucked up practices.

I'm at a crossroads though. I'm going to pick up the game tomorrow, but at the same time I want to do the dirty deed and play a pirated Japanese version. I mean despite the stupid censorship and the rumored meme talk and bad dubbing, it's still Fire Emblem at it's core.
I still think NoA played foul, I mean Senran Kagura Burst and Bayonetta are on Ninty consoles.

Of course the game has to uphold itself to his own gameplay, that's really the only reason why sales are so high.

See here's my problem. I really do want to buy the game but I'm not going to based on principles. I mean this is also why wont i buy the DLC for awakening that has the beach thing. Its like they think teenagers have never been to the beach or something.
It's really bullshit that US customers have to go to such lengths just to buy / play the full game.
I'm stuck in between liking the series and wanting to support developers. Or going against my principles and not want to buy censored games.
As an American I really shouldn't have to deal with third parties telling me what I can and can't buy, or deciding if a product should have certain intent.

I've found that exact Tharja figure at an anime convention for $150. I've found one at another time for $180, and another time at around $200. It hasn't really settled at a specific price. I don't know a specific company to buy from. I just carefully check what I'm buying, and who I'm buying it from. If you have a steady income, and you won't fuck yourself over in the meanwhile by buying it, just go for it. It's easily one of my favorite figures.
